Defcon. Yeah that'd always be my choice in terms of diplomacy. No actual ties just a loose coalition based on the honour of the players. And hell knows thats in short supply.

I'd love to see an acheivement called "Damn Nam" whereby your character hides in a corner of the map and smokes more substances than he should. Hell I can list several things i'd like to see:1. Techology playing a real role. As in one player way off the map untouchable by the enemy controlling a scout drone with a missile. 2. Civilians in the battlezone. If you could force players to consider these people without resorting to docking points it'd be good.3. Special Forces. They start off with the enemy team unaware they're even playing then when you least expect it, WHAM! Someones broke your neck and is setting up demo charges on your presidential palalce.4. Sorry to beat the dead horse but if we could have George Bush in one level... please????

Everyone knows more kids die on easter egg hunts than on any other syndicated holiday activity. The bunny in the dark, it speaks to me!!!!

Yeah I find that among a certain set you get that. Theres this gaming centre in the city where I live and the gamers who hang out there are all in their late 20's early thirties and they're pretty bitchy about stuff like casual gaming. I mean the Wii is like poison to them you know. Personally I think anything that improves the (however undeserved) image the media has of gaming is alright.

@RyanKuo: Thats a nice analogy... in a kind of creepy way. In my mind its like what would the computer do if after X number of playthroughs where the player kicked its ass it was given its own life. Let loose on its own levels how would it show up the average player.

@johnteti: Two completely different ways of approaching the same activity. If you want an arguement for gaming as a more mature artform than people commonly perceive then thats a good approach right there.

Gradius. Its like he's toying with them and when he condescends to actually fight them its so one sided. Pretty amazing work made even more amazing by the laborious process required to create it. Harder or easier than actually playing the game amazingly?

No way Fallout as a canon would lack material for an MMO. I mean you have a huge setting (America.... its pretty big last time I checked), a wealth of goings on (and the characters to go with it) and a pretty solid fanbase to start off. Only thing I can see as a downside is the format in terms of view and control.

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too. » Read On
