  • Cutting Room Floor: The Game District 9 Really Reminded Me Of by Evan Narcisse

    August 27, 2009 1:40:48 PM

I dunno about you guys but the world in district 9 really reminded me of half-life 2 except flipped around i like how the aliens were integrated into society but at the same time weren't integrated at all. It was really cool.

i hate those godamn monkeys in sonic the hedgehog you would be going three hundred miles per hour shooting through loops and stuff hitting boosters flying up springs and all kind of super speed shnanigans and then you would be hit by a stupid coconut thrown by a monkey and lose all your speed and rings and it sucked so hardcore

  • Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta: Is This the End?

    August 18, 2009 9:16:34 AM

sorry to say but i totally diagree with that.
i personally didn't like that the last chapter was on an alien spaceship i thought it completely drew you away from the beautiful but sad landscape that was the wasteland.
i always liked the little peppering of alien stuff in the wasteland but i only liked it cause it was subdued and mysterious. the alein spaceship was overdone and tacky and personally what made fallout so great for me was the wasteland and the way in which society worked there.
i dont find mothership zeta a fitting end because i find it far to removed from the fallout universe i loved so much

  • Like Watching Paint Dry: Why Most Games After the Opening Hour Are Really Boring

    July 7, 2009 11:19:52 PM

Personally i think that the key to keeping a game interesting throughout is not just gameplay. I think that in order to keep the same game interesting it needs to have a story that makes me want to figure out what happens next. A game with a good story is just as compelling to play as a game with good gameplay. For instance mass effect's gameplay never really changed at all and that was a huge game but i was really inot the game's story and thus i was able to finish the entire thing without ever feeling bored.

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
