hey richard- i just want to say that it's "not you, it's me" (how corny does that sound?) anyway, i'm sure you're great at what you do, however, the shoes that you're about to fill are very large indeed. i hope you are aware of that. i will continue to troll around here, and give this site the benefit of the doubt, however, when scott jones and the gang open a new one, i'll "r.i.p" this one...good luck richard!

wow...just found out about this. no wonder there weren't anymore reviews coming out as of lately. the recession and downsizing affects us all, even "game-dom". i hope Scott Jones does something big now. well, off to www.elecplay.com

i tried the demo for ps3, and played with another lost soul somewhere across the world. i found several glitches in the brief time i played, and the one major glitch with opening some door (it wouldn't let us open it) was the final nail in the coffin. when they can't even get a demo right, i won't bother with it. i'm not sure if it was the ps3 version alone, as i didn't bother doing it with the xbox.

one question though- i read somewhere that this was a game "made from the ground up"....how so? it looked and played basically the same as the last in my opinion...

i must confess that i'm a suck when it comes to playing scary games- especially when zombies are involved. i mean, i have a love/hate relationship with them. in playing L4D in single player mode, i found that just knowing there were other survivors tagging along in the fight (even though they were AI), i wasn't such a suck. they helped me through it alright. i know for a fact that if i was the sole player without any AI teammates, i'd have shat myself during the Mercy campaign and turned off my console.

  • Modern Warfare 2

just finished single player mission....i had an absolute blast with this game. LOVED IT!!! i found it to be just the right length to keep me engaged (i have total ADD) and now i'm right addicted to multiplayer (getting better, but it's not quite as frustrating as Gears of War multiplayer. All in all, i give it two thumbs up- i know that i'll be replaying this at a tougher level.

for what it's worth, Morgan Webb reviewed the game this past week on X-PLAY and said of the airport scene:

"...in context the scene makes sense...while it may offend some, it's not just for shock value. It's a narrative risk that was boldly taken and the story is better for it"

and while she's MUCH hotter than Tom, i understand her opinion isn't the only one...but damn- she's hot eh?? :)

I hate to say it, but i'm actually really enjoying the single player campaign. however, i must also say that besides playing COD on the psp, this is my first whack at the COD franchise. i will say that i agree with the fact that i really don't know what the hell i'm doing at times (weak meshing of the story), but perhaps its because i'm missing some dialogue cuz i've got my volume on low as to not wake my family). i'm loving the sniping and some of the weapons, and the graphics are absolutely brilliant in my opinion. as a first time player, it has peaked my interest to rent the previous COD titles and put my Gears of War disc back in it's case for awhile.
