I haven't played console games since WoW came out. I seem to go in cycles. Consoles, D2, consoles, WoW ...The last great fps I played was Goldeneye for the 64. War games have no appeal to me whatsoever.

That's a rather interesting fabric covering the chair he's in. Very Golden Girls'esque.

Seems interesting, I'll definitely have to check it out. Was a huge D2 fan and anxiously awaiting D3 after having played it twice now!

Another comes to mind.Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube. Haven't played it in years but I can still recall being abso-frickin-lutely freaked out at some of the insanity effects. Namely the TV volume decrease, the sinking while walking into floors, and the ants crawling on the screen.Even consciously knowing that the insanity effects were a possibility, those and others still surprised me unlike any other game has since.Think this one was 2002 as well.@RyanKuo - The awful voice acting on top of some master modes plus a good bit of alcohol and a good group of friends made for some hilarious nights "back in the day"

I didn't see anyone dressed up for Halloween this year =(I did, however, go to a local grocery store recently wearing a T shirt from the most recent Blizzcon. The cashier looked at me, stared slack-jawed blankly for at least 15 seconds, pointed at my breasts and finally whispered "Oh my god, you went?"It took me a moment to realize what she was talking about. You have to understand I live in a tiny town, about 8,000 people all told, and this grocery store is as local as local gets. I hadn't picked the shirt for any reason other than it was the first one on the hanger in my closet, but it floored this poor cashier. She was dumbstruck ... by a T shirt. Now periodically my fiance points at my chest and stares blankly, mouth gaping, and we laugh and laugh. So yeah, didn't see any Halloween costumes, but wearing a game related T shirt to a grocery store got a huge response.

Without a doubt, the Fjord Turkeys in World of Warcraft have my vote. Not only do they turn into cooked birds when you kill them (before and after shot here http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/6735/wowturkey.jpg ), but if you kill enough of them in a short period of time, angry turkeys will attack you later (they are usually non aggressive critters).

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too. » Read On
