eh, I'd definately rent it, or borrow it from someone who's bought it. Sounds good for a short run at least.

are you kidding me? mercs 2 is similar in only the most basic concept, it plays NOTHING like the first game. Do not get this game. It is dissapointing and very dull

If a game goes slow enough, you can get a pretty accurate framerate count. trust me. Really though, I'm hugely dissapointed in the reveiws this game is getting. I thought I might rent it, but no one seems to like it except for the "OMG! im playing a VIDEOGAME with THINGS in it and when i press buttons STUFF HAPPENS!!!OMFG" people. And I've had enough of them with mercenaries 2 (another huge dissapointment by the way).

Really, I'd have said to fry it. the game is obsessed with close combat, the only remotely usable weapons were the sniper rifles. Headshots were impossible to get (and thus a fast kill) from any sort of distance, and bullets for all weapons are slow and all are inncacurate. Airstrikes need to be SMOKE DESIGNATED!?! WTF?! Having to get close in DEFEATS the purpose of the damn thing in the first place! Also, what happened to stun grenades? This is like 3 steps back from mercs 1 (to 1998).

Eh, I really must disagree. The aim was real heavy, and the weapons were so inaccurate that you couldn't get a quick kill. It seriously limited your strategic options, forcing you to play one way only. airstrikes usually needed a beacon to be thrown. Couldn't I have had a laser or satelite option, or even used the binoculars? Being close to your target kind of defeated the whole purpose of the airstrike. When you combine the other issues, you have a game that isn't even as good as the first.
