It's more fun to ask them questions. Watch them melt down in confusion. Start with, what company do you represent...and it goes down hill from there.

You can always end with 'what purpose do you serve?" which usually gets security wandering over your way.

  • Why I (Can't) Hate Wii Music

It sounded interesting until I saw the Nintendo execs demonstrating it at E3. At that point, I wanted to stick sharp pencils in my ears so that I did not have to listen. I am hoping it can enhance the understanding of music for kids who play but it seems to me like just another expensive noisy toy that end up in the basement after a few weeks.

So, do the video game publishers send out copies to their 'friends' with the implicit threat that if the review is brutal, the next advanced copy may be a little slow getting to the writer's doorstep. Does this lead to the question whether or not to trust the first reviews anyway? And we wonder why a 7.5 out of 10 is really more of a 'this game sucks but we can't write that' situation. If I have to spend $50 on a game, I don't want some hastily published review with a thumbs up.

Wii Music - wins the "NEVER COMING INTO MY HOUSE" award. I have heard noisy toys before and this is a nightmare. Five screechy electronic toys that sound like cheese graters on my spine even in the demo. OMG, are they insane! That game will be a word-of-mouth nightmare for them with parents once they realize how bad it is. Why not sell it with Q-tip cotton balls for parents' ears.

Having seen the Nintendo presentation via webcast, it was horrifying how little Cammie Dunaway seemed to be able to use the Wii products. Ever play what you sell? Even if she is relatively new, then someone should make sure she knows how to play before putting her up there.

Best E3 party - Rockband 2... you know it would be good if these guys actually invited a band that has been relevant in the last 25 years. Are they selling this game to the kids and 20-somethings ar their grandparents... grooin' to the oldies. geez.

Betty Crocker is dead and rotting in her grave...pretty much like this game before it ever gets released!

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
