The Zombie Apocalypse is dated for late Sept.
Konami Digital Entertainment has announced the release date and pricing for its downloadable zombie themed action game, Zombie Apocalypse. Coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 on September 23 for 800 MS Points and the PlayStation Network on September 24 for $9.99 USD.
Zombie Apocalypse drops players in a battle of survival between the dead and the living. Equipped with some heavy duty artillery, your shooting skills will be put to the test in this arcade style shooter that throws copious amounts of zombies at you. Gamers can choose from up to 11 weapons including assault rifles, flamethrowers and teddy bears filled with C4 explosives. A chainsaw is also available to players who want an up close and personal encounter with the roaming dead. Players can also take advantage of their surroundings as they utilize environmental hazards to destroy massive hordes of zombies.
The goal is to stave of the zombie attacks for 55 days without joining their ranks. Good luck! But you do not have to face the evil masses alone as multiplayer allow up to four shooters to take on the zombies locally or co-operatively online.
Sounds like fun. Look for the game at the end of this month.

Fort Zombie announced at PAX
Paradox Interactive today kicked off its PAX 2009 plans by unveiling of Fort Zombie, an action RPG title that will be available through all major digital distribution channels. As the title suggests, Fort Zombie sees players trapped in the small town of Piety, Indiana. Faced with no other choice but to find shelter from an impending wave of zombies migrating from a nearby metropolis, players will have to choose a building to be their Fort throughout the entire campaign.
By focusing efforts on building up this structure, scouring town for supplies, and searching out and training other survivors, players will have a shot at surviving the massive zombie onslaught. Players will also have to choose from a variety of daily tasks and efficiently build up character stats and skills to fight off the zombies.
Fort Zombie will be released this fall on PC.
Zombie Apocalypse Announced
Zombies are the new deer hunting simulation game it would seem. Capcom is throwing its raggedy blood soaked hat into the zombie apocalypse with the appropriately titled Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network game, Zombie Apocalypse. set to shamble its way into your hearts and onto your hard drives in the second quarter of 2009, Zombie Apocalypse has you gunning down as many zombies as you can to save the world from Zombiegeddon.
Players will do this using 11 weapons including assault rifles, flame throwers and a teddy bear filled with C4 explosives. Up to four players can play locally or via the Internet to stop the zombie attacks and rescue survivors as they compete for the highest scores. Other nifty weapons include a chainsaw to melee zombies, environmental hazards and a bunch of other surprises.
The end goal is to survive 55 days across seven environments and garner the most kills and the biggest score. If this sounds like fun, then keep your eyes peeled for the game later this year.

Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop Ships
Capcom’s Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop heads to retail today for the Wii. The game which is based on the Xbox 360 hit Dead Rising, is more third-person shooter/action and less open world zombie slaying sim, which has, naturally lead to some criticism of the game. Of course, having not played it yet I can not speak to whether or not it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread or yet another watered down, convoluted port to the Wii.
Unlike its Xbox 360 counterpart, the Wii version is split into a series of individual cases all of which Frank must complete in order to gain vital information that will allow him to piece together the truth behind the horrendous epidemic. In addition to the cases, players will be faced with the dilemma of deciding the rescue priority of the residents of Wilamette who also sought sanctuary in the mall. Depending on the player’s skill, some may not be so fortunate as each rescue needs to be undertaken in a set time period.
We Hope Chop Till You Drop is good, but we’re not holding our breath. Look for a full review from Crisp Gamer soon.
