Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Released

sf2 Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Released action Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is now available on PlayStation Network for $14.99 and November 26, 2008 for Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 MS points. In addition, Capcom’s direct-to-download music album of hip-hop tracks inspired by the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter Underground Remix, is now live. It features the artists such as DJ Qbert, Hieroglyphics, Redman, Oh No, DJ Toure, Mistah FAB and ZION I. Each artist has produced a Street Fighter tribute track that will be free of charge and exclusive to the PlayStation Network. You can check out the tracks by visiting www.myspace.com/capcomunity.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix utilizes the original code from the arcade beat ‘em up hit, while upgrading the graphics with new artwork and high resolution 1080p images. All of the character animation and stage background art has been completely redrawn by Udon Entertainment, the company responsible for the US Street Fighter series of comics. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix includes both online and offline competition for one or two players.

Naturally, the game features all the familiar stages and fighters from the original, along with a few new features to give the game even more appeal with the next-gen gamer crowd. Look for it on PSN today.

Fallout 3 Editor, DLC Soon

fallout_3_xbox_360_ps3_pc_03-640x Fallout 3 Editor, DLC Soon actionBethesda Softworks announced that the editor and the first batch of downloadable content available for Fallout 3 in the coming weeks. The official editor for Fallout 3, called the G.E.C.K. (Garden of Eden Creation Kit), will be available for free download in December and will allow Games for Windows users to create and add their own content to the game. In addition, the first official downloadable content, Operation: Anchorage, will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 and Games for Windows in January, with more downloadable content coming in February and March.

The release of the G.E.C.K. will allow players to create, modify, and edit any data for use with Fallout 3, from building landscapes, towns, and locations to writing dialogue, creating characters, weapons, creatures, and more.

Three downloadable content packs will be coming to Xbox 360 and Games for Windows Live starting in January that will add new quests, items, and content to Fallout 3. Details on those after the jump.

Fable II DLC in Dec.

dad-640x Fable II DLC in Dec. actionLionhead and Microsoft announced that, starting mid-December, fans will be able to download the Knothole Island downloadable content pack for Fable II. The story goes that the remote island of Knothole is dying: its golden sands and lush vegetation are covered with snow, its people freezing, its treasures buried. Only a hero (perhaps you?) can face the trials of the three shrines to bring back the sunshine. With the release of the first “Fable II” downloadable content, available for 800 Microsoft Points, gamers will be able to enter Knothole Island, where new quests, new items and bizarre characters await.

Also in mid-December, fans will be able to score a free Fable II downloadable pack - you’ll need this if you want to play co-op in the Knothole Island content. Free and premium users will also receive several gifts, including Knight’s Boots, Assassins Gloves, a special Weight Loss Potion, collectible silver book and more. Players will also be able to check their standing in over 50 new Leaderboards on Lionhead.com.

As an additional treat for Fable II fans, Lionhead Studios and Microsoft Game Studios have created an all-new Albion dashboard theme to celebrate the launch of the New Xbox Experience. Fans who want to show off their Fable II pride can head over to Xbox LIVE Marketplace to download the Albion theme, available now for 250 Microsoft points.

 dedspgenscrn0726v7-640x Dead Space Demo This Week actionIf you have not yet tried the retail version of EA’s horror survival game set in space, then you will want to be on the lookout for the demo, which is hitting Xbox Live Market and on PlayStation Network  on Tuesday, Nov. 25. The European demos will be released on Nov 27.

The demo for Dead Space gives gamers a measured taste of this action game set on a derelict mining space station, apparently under siege by a wicked alien species.

Developed at EA Redwood Shores, Dead Space is rated M for Mature with descriptors of Blood and Gore, Intense Violence and Strong Language by the ESRB and 18+ for PEGI. Dead Space is available for MSRP $59.99 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 and MSRP $49.99 for the PC.

Street Fighter Overdose

If the answer to that question is “maybe” or “yes” then Capcom has some great news for you: some additional downloadable content related to the Xbox 360 version of the game. The special initiative, dubbed “Season of Street Fighter,” will see the release of some specially themed content for several Xbox Live Arcade titles, as well as some other multimedia content to be made available on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Capcom kicked off the “Season of Street Fighter” with the release of the Super Street Fighter Pinball FX downloadable pack, which added a new Street Fighter pinball table to the popular downloadable game on Xbox LIVE Arcade. The Street Fighter UNO DLC pack is also on the way, offering new Street Fighter Command Cards with signature Street Fighter power moves, as well as backgrounds and music inspired by Street Fighter. Capcom will also have another “little” surprise coming to the PlayStation Network later in the holiday season.

Xbox LIVE Gets a Case of Weekend Hiccups

Ah yes. The weekend. That special time away from the daily grind of the work week where you can get away from the ol’ 9 to 5 job and hang out online with friends for a good game of Gears of War 2. At least that’s the way it should have been for Xbox 360 owners this weekend. Unfortunately, the service had other ideas.

Starting late Thursday night and lasting through last night, the Xbox LIVE service started suffering from sporadic shutdowns, disconnecting thousands of gamers at random intervals. And while the Microsoft engineers were hard at work to get everything up and running again, every time things seemed fixed, the disconnects started back up again.

goldlancerduel-640x Microsoft Comments On Recent XBL Bans industryIt seems like a lot of 360 owners got a rude awakening this week, as various forums were lit up with reports of sweeping bans from Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE service. While most of the posters seemed stunned by the action, a common thread from many of these posters involved them having played “backup copies” or “early copies” of games like Gears of War 2, and using modified 360s to do so.
