Tecmo reveals NBA UNRIVALED
TECMO announced a partnership this week with developer A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games to release NBA UNRIVALED exclusively for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network. Combining arcade fun and retro styling, this sports title will be available in time to kick off the 2009-2010 NBA basketball season with all 30 NBA teams and players from the latest rosters. From expressive cut scenes to exaggerated slams, the game will be reminiscent of arcade basketball favorites. At this time, no such game exists via digital download.
Game features include all 30 NBA teams and the top players from the 2009-2010 season, full 5-on-5 team arcade-style gameplay, various multiplayer modes ( Player vs. Player, or 2 Players vs. CPU), arcade style (spiffy effects, crazy dunks, and fast paced action), lots of Unlockables, HD graphics, and more.

Splosion Man gets Avatar Rewards
Twisted Pixel Games announced this week plans to extend, expand and improve its Xbox Live Arcade game, Splosion Man. In the next few weeks free avatar awards, free meats, and improved online multiplayer will be rolled out and into the game. Twisted Pixel CEO Michael Wilford says that this is the biggest update the company has deployed to an existing game.
Avatar Awards for the game were launched earlier this week on Xbox Live Arcade. Splosion Man is the first game to provide this feature to players free of charge. Players who have already performed the achievement will be awarded their accessories at the main menu, while new players will get to see a preview of what their avatar looks like wearing the accessory. Players can win two male and two female accessories for free by playing through Splosion Man.
Twisted Pixel and Omaha Steaks have teamed up to deliver hundreds of top-quality steak filets to players. Register by downloading the special Splosion Man gamerpic on the Dashboard or on Xbox.com, and then receive one entry each time (up to 5 times) Splosion Man is played in an online multiplayer session before November 22nd.
Finally, some online multiplayer fixes are in place. Since the game’s launch, some players have encountered laggy online game sessions in certain network scenarios, including connections that frequently drop data packets. In the latest title update to the game, those issues have been fixed.

Axel & Pixel now available on XBLA
2K Play’s new point-and-click adventure game, Axel & Pixel, is now available worldwide on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Axel & Pixel was developed by Silver Wish Games and utilizes a simple point-and-click interface. Players lead Axel the artist and his dog Pixel through 24 levels of photo collage environments where they encounter nature-inspired characters like the Ice Giant, his rat apprentice and other motley inhabitants of the Dream World. Along their journey, the duo will scale majestic mountains, build rafts to cross treacherous rivers, and fly away in a hot air balloon through the Dream World.
In addition to assisting Axel and Pixel on their adventures, players can race vehicles in Arcade Mode and post high scores to the online leaderboard. Players will also discover bonus items, including dog bones, sketches and paint tubes hidden throughout the Dream World that give Axel the tools and inspiration to complete his finest work of art.

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space this Wednesday
Telltale’s Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space will launch on Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday. All five episodes of the series’ second season will be bundled together and sell for 1600 Microsoft Points (320 points each). Like Sam & Max Save the World, the XBLA version of Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space will include achievements, HD graphic support, localized subtitles for German, French, Italian and Spanish, and a custom control scheme adapted specifically for the Xbox 360. A second Sam & Max Xbox picture pack will release on Wednesday.
Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space pits the Freelance Police against a demon-possessed Santa Claus, gigantic robots, and an emo vampire amassing an army of rave-loving zombies. Mariachis will sing, dead goldfish will prophesize, and Hell just might freeze over, and when friends are caught in the crossfire, Sam & Max risk their very souls to set things right. With an overarching story told throughout five action-packed episodes, the second season of Sam & Max is brimming with puzzles, exotic environments and the humor fans have come to expect from Telltale.

Atlus reveals Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition
Atlus U.S.A. will bring the indie action game Zeno Clash to Xbox LIVE Arcade in a vastly enhanced version of the game called Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition. Ultimate Edition promises new modes including the all-new online cooperative mode for the Tower Challenges (a special survival mode that offers additional replayability beyond the single-player campaign), new features (including combat rebalancing, interface enhancements, improved animations, new modes), and added content. Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition for Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 is scheduled to release in Spring 2010.

Military Madness: Nectaris now on Xbox Live
Hudson’s classic turn-based strategy game, Military Madness: Nectaris is now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade. This new title features the same strategic gameplay of the original Military Madness game, along with new features such as 3D graphics, four player online or local team / vs. multiplayer, an all-new Commander unit that can be customized with various abilities, leaderboards and more.
The game is based on the TurboGrafx-16 classic released in 1989, Military Madness features two opposing forces with near-future military equipment battling it out on the Moon. Each level is a distinct map with a hex grid, on which players take turns moving their units in an effort to win by destroying all enemy units or taking over the enemy headquarters. Like the original game, Military Madness: Nectaris players must use strategy in the placement and movement of units, make use of terrain advantages and predict enemy movements to outsmart the enemy.

The Warriors: Street Brawl now available
Paramount Digital Entertainment’s The Warriors: Street Brawl is now available for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Just in time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cult-classic film, The Warriors, the XBLA game lets players become a Warrior and brawl their way through gang-infested New York City trying to make it all the way back to Coney Island. In conjunction with the game release, Paramount Digital Entertainment has also launched The Warriors: Street Brawl Facebook app which allows users to challenge their friends and compete to determine who is the true Overlord of New York.
True to the storyline of the movie, The Warriors: Street Brawl begins at the gang summit in Van Cortland Park, where Cyrus, leader of all the gangs is assassinated. The players’ gang, The Warriors, are wrongfully accused of the murder, forcing the gang to attempt to leave Manhattan. On their way back to Coney Island, players will encounter hordes of rival gangs out to get revenge. Players take on the role of one of the iconic Warriors including Swan, Cochise, Vermin and Rembrandt, as they fight to uphold the gang’s reputation.
As gamers battle their way through the city, they will be able to build their entourage of Warriors by unlocking new playable characters including Mercy and Ajax. To overcome their enemies as they battle through each gameplay mission and mode, gamers can draw on an arsenal of weapons such as knives, bats, crowbars, 2×4’s and Molotov cocktails. This ultimately will lead to the epic beach showdown against Luther, the devious leader of The Rogues.
