Ubisoft finds Waldo

Ubisoft answers the question Where’s Waldo with the release of a new interactive adventure video game titled Where’s Waldo? The Fantastic Journey. Created by Ludia, Where’s Waldo? The Fantastic Journey is a search-and-find adventure for the entire family, as players explore the lands in search of Waldo, his friends and other hidden objects. The game is now available for the Wii, DS, Windows-based PC and Mac at North American retailers.

In the game, players look for Waldo and friends, in addition to hundreds of hidden items in twelve different worlds that unlock via a central map that becomes animated as players progress. Where’s Waldo? The Fantastic Journey can be played in single- or multiplayer mode, in Easy and Normal challenges to suit players of all ages and skill levels. Gameplay is enhanced through a variety of power-up features where players unleash different special effects to gain an advantage over opponents or enhance their own search capabilities.

Ubisoft’s Q2 release schedule

Buried amongst its fiscal first quarter 2009 - 2010 results, Ubisoft today revealed it second quarter release schedule (July - September 2009). The list consists mainly of tween games like Imagine, casual board games like Scrabble, and a handful of licensed games like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Full list below.

Where’s Waldo? Ask Ubisoft

Ubisoft, Classic Media and Ludia have inked a deal to bring a new Where’s Waldo? game to life. the new game will be called Where’s Waldo? The Fantastic Journey and is being developed by Ludia. In Where’s Waldo? The Fantastic Journey players scour the virtual globe in search of Waldo, his friends and other hidden objects. The game will be available for the Wii, the Nintendo DS, Windows and Mac and sold at North American retailers in September 2009.

The hidden object adventure title will have players looking for Waldo and friends, in addition to hundreds of hidden items in twelve different worlds. The game will offer single player and a competitive multiplayer mode with power-ups to make the game more interesting.

These power-ups allow players to use different special effects to gain an advantage over opponents or enhance their own search capabilities. some examples include a paint power-up you can use to obscure the other player’s screen, a power-up to freeze the screen, a special sparkly power-up that highlights hidden thing on the user’s screen and many other that will be revealed at a later date.Â
