Today, KOEI announced it has released a Title Update for Warriors Orochi 2 for Xbox 360. The update fixes a serious problem with slowdown when engaging large amounts of enemies. The problem only affects the Xbox 360 version of the game, so this should make things all better for players. Here’s the official word from the folks at KOEI:

KOEI’s top priority is to always deliver outstanding products with the highest levels of quality. However, we have determined that under certain conditions unusual slow-down may occur during battle scenes in Warriors Orochi 2 for Xbox 360. If you have this game, you will be able to download a Title Update through Xbox LIVE.

This problem only affects the version for Xbox 360 and does not affect the version for PlayStation 2.

Log onto Xbox Live and start your game to get the ball rolling.

op_01-640x Warriors Orochi 2 Gold actionKOEI’s Warriors Orochi 2 has gone gold and will be in stores on September 23 for the PS2 and Xbox 360. We are a blue and red orb collecting family here, so we’re actually looking forward to this, though it doesn’t sound like too many changes are coming to this fantasy themed action game that combines characters from the Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors series.

This year’s release offers a new storyline that begins directly following the conclusion of the first, along with 90 characters from KOEI’s other series, a two-player versus mode, and the promise of some overall tweaks and improvements to the formula. Look for Warriors Orochi 2 at the end of this month.

KOEI announced that Warriors Orochi 2 is in development at Omega Force and will be released on Xbox 360 and PS2 in September. Like its predecessor, Warriors Orochi 2 combines characters from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series with a fantasy setting that allows players to mix and match the best heroes from China and Japan’s turbulent histories.

At the end of Warriors Orochi, The mightiest heroes of ancient China and Japan teamed up to defeat the evil Serpent King Orochi and his army. While the slain Orochi lies in the netherworld, a mysterious alliance is formed to return him back to the land of the living. Now a new group of warriors are called to join forces with history’s finest in an effort to stop this evil resurrection.

Warriors Orochi 2’s “Story” mode features storylines for the kingdoms of Wu, Wei, and Shu, and the SAMURAI WARRIORS, while a new Orochi storyline looks back to the first series of wars to reveal some of the Serpent King’s secrets. The game’s newly added “Dream” mode features an original storyline different from that of Story Mode with some unusual scenarios for players to tackle.

Other new features include a new two-player “Versus” mode that is comprised of four different modes including “Tag Team” matches that pit individual fighters in head-to-head combat; the return of the “team Battle System,” which lets players choose three different warriors to control at the start of each battle; and over 90 playable characters from both franchises including Samurai Warriors 2 Xtreme Legends 2, and new characters from Chinese and Japanese history.

Look for the game in September.
