Target ad shows $299 Xbox 360 Elite 120GB, $250 60GB Pro
If Microsoft isn’t cutting the price on its , the someone ought to tell the people that make flyers for Wal-Mart, Meijer and Target. The latest, the Target ad, which some astute readers (and possible insiders) sent in to Engadget, reveals pricing from next week’s Target flyer. It has been heavily rumored that the Xbox 360 60GB Pro system would be getting a price to $250, while the Xbox 360 120GB Elite system would be sold for right around $299 - the same price as the PS3 Slim.
As Engadget point out in its article, Target’s weekly ads tend to run from Saturday to Sunday, which would put these new prices into effect on August 30 - the date that other flyers have shown for these price cuts.
Meanwhile Microsoft continues to remain quiet on the matter. The speculation, which is proving to be true ever so slowly, is that the 60 GB Pro edition of the Xbox 360 will be phased out and the 120 GB Elite and Arcade SKUs will remain. We’ll keep you posted as this story continues to evolve.

Wal-Mart Secures “Tens of Thousands” of Wiis
Ask any parent what the big “must get” item is for this holiday season, and most will have Nintendo’s Wii console somewhere on that list. Of course, since the Wii is the “It” item of the year, it’s getting so that finding one is about as rare as spotting Bigfoot in the wild. That is, unless you decide to hit up Wal-Mart for your holiday shopping.
According to Reuters, Wal-Mart has secured a supply of “tens of thousands” of the Wii game consoles, and will begin offering them for sale on the Wal-Mart website starting today. Walmart.com said it will offer the Nintendo Wii console by itself for $249.24, as well as bundle deals ranging in price from $329 to $458 which include the console and other items like an extra set of controllers, extra games, or even the also elusive Wii Fit, while supplies last.

Wal-Mart Says Sorry with $10 Gift Cards
Last week, Wal-Mart had gamers tripping over themselves, thanks to an online preorder deal that had Super Smash Bros. Brawl listed at the low, low price of $19.82. Opportunistic fans immediately flooded the servers to take advantage of the budget price…at least until Wal-Mart got around to canceling the whole deal, calling the price a technical error. Still, while gamers may not be getting their SSBB love from the retail equivalent of Godzilla, they”re not walking away empty-handed. It seems that Wal-Mart is offering up a mea culpa in the form of $10 gift cards, currently being issued out to everyone whose orders were canceled as a result of the pricing snafu.
For those still interested in dropping some cash on a preorder for the upcoming brawler, Wal-Mart now has the game listed at a corrected price of $39.82 on its Web site.
