Star Ocean: First Departure Released

Square Enix has shipped Star Ocean: First Departure for the PSP to North American retailers. The game is a reworked version of the original PS2 RPG from TRI-Ace, using a revised game engine, improved battle system and fully voiced, all-new animated scenes displayed in 16:9 widescreen.

Naturally, the game offers the popular characters and storylines of the Star Ocean series in addition to real-time combat, a unique combo system and skill tree, and more. If you need something to tide you over until Star Ocean: Second Evolution ships in January, then this RPG is probably as good as anything else coming out of Square Enix this year.
