Majesco in pact with Tetris Online for DS and Wii games
Majesco Entertainment and Tetris Online have inked a strategic partnership to support the North American launch and distribution of two new TETRIS games for Wii and DS. Both games are expected to launch in spring 2010. Further details on the new games were not divulged at press time, but one could imagine these games involve falling blocks, large L’s and T’s. Hundreds of millions of players have played and enjoyed this unique puzzle gameplay since its debut on the Game Boy.
Tetris Online, as you can guess, is the exclusive online licensee of The Tetris Company and holds all rights to TETRIS in North America and Europe. Founded in January 2006 by Minoru Arakawa, Henk Rogers and Alexey Pajitnov, Tetris Online also develops TETRIS games (duh). Titles include Tetris Party for WiiWare, Tetris Splash for Xbox LIVE Arcade, and Tetris Friends Online Games, which can currently be found at www.tetrisfriends.com.
