TIME.com launches Techland

Time.com Opens Techland Geek Nerd CultureTIME.com now speaks our language. Today the online arm of the magazine launches Techland, an intersection of culture and tech news. Techland promises to combine breaking tech news, reviews and discussion. The site is led by Peter Ha, TIME.com technology editor and previously a writer for CrunchGear.com. Techland’s team is also comprised of Lev Grossman, TIME Senior Writer, book critic and lead technology writer; Matt Selman, TIME.com/Nerdworld contributor and Executive Producer of The Simpsons; and Steve Snyder, who will cover the latest films, DVD’s and TV. And one other very familar name: Tracey John.

The first content on the new site includes a closer look at Tony Hawk: Ride, an interview with 2012 director Robert Emmerich, Zack Whedon’s exclusive reveal of his new Terminator series for Dark Horse Comics, a review of Samsung’s latest Android handset, an exclusive sneak peek at Irredeemable #8 and an interview with Valve’s Gabe Newell. find out more at techland.com.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood updated

Ubisoft has released the patch 1.1 for the PC version of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. The patch 1.1 improves the multiplayer experience on Windows-based systems, with Spy, Gunslinger, Hombre, Veteran and Sniper classes balanced to offer improved gunfights.

The patch 1.1 also brings compatibility with Techland’s User Content Creation Package which offers a complete solution for creating and modifying full functional multiplayer and single-player maps. The User Content Creation Package is now available at www.cojmodding.com.

Ubisoft duo available on Steam

Ubisoft’s Dawn of Discovery and Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood are now available via Steam. Dawn of Discovery gives gamers the opportunity to explore new civilizations and build their own empire using combination of construction, economy, discovery, diplomacy, and combat. The game was developed by Sunflowers, better known as the creators of the popular historical strategy game series, ANNO. In other regions the game is called ANNO 1404.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is a prequel to the Wild West action shooter Call of Juarez from developer Techland. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood takes place 20 years before the events of the first game, telling the story of the McCall Brothers and their quest for the legendary Gold of Juarez .

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood in stores

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, the prequel to the Wild West action shooter Call of Juarez, is now available in stores across North America for the Xbox 360, the PS3 and Windows. Developed by Techland, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood takes place 20 years before the events of the first game.
Bound in Blood tells the story of the McCall Brothers and a quest for the legendary Gold of Juarez - from Civil War era Georgia to Aztec ruins of Mexico. The brothers, Ray and Thomas, make their way into the Wild West, using what skilled gunmen uses to survive: bullets.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood also features online play, letting users play as a variety of different character classes including gunslingers, bandits and marshals and multiple character classes can be unlocked for team-based objective modes or the straightforward team death match. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood introduces a Bounty System as well, which increases the bounty on a player’s head as they rack up more kills.
