Runes of Magic game cards now at Target
Pre-paid game cards for Frogster’s free-to-play MMO Runes of Magic will soon be available at Target stores nationwide. The cards will provide instant access to in-game credits in Runes of Magic. The game cards started shipping to Target stores on October 1st.
Runes of Magic Game Cards come in $20 increments and can be used in the game’s diamond shop to purchase mounts or in-game enhancements. The Target Game Card joins the recently announced Zeevex card program which will make Runes of Magic’s in-game currency available at 7-Eleven stores. Frogster continues to look for additional ways to support the community with alternative payment methods, survey credits and other opportunities that open up the game’s paid enhancements to the free user base, the company said.

Target ad shows $299 Xbox 360 Elite 120GB, $250 60GB Pro
If Microsoft isn’t cutting the price on its , the someone ought to tell the people that make flyers for Wal-Mart, Meijer and Target. The latest, the Target ad, which some astute readers (and possible insiders) sent in to Engadget, reveals pricing from next week’s Target flyer. It has been heavily rumored that the Xbox 360 60GB Pro system would be getting a price to $250, while the Xbox 360 120GB Elite system would be sold for right around $299 - the same price as the PS3 Slim.
As Engadget point out in its article, Target’s weekly ads tend to run from Saturday to Sunday, which would put these new prices into effect on August 30 - the date that other flyers have shown for these price cuts.
Meanwhile Microsoft continues to remain quiet on the matter. The speculation, which is proving to be true ever so slowly, is that the 60 GB Pro edition of the Xbox 360 will be phased out and the 120 GB Elite and Arcade SKUs will remain. We’ll keep you posted as this story continues to evolve.

Target Plans E3 Lounge
Target will have a presence at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angles in June, though nothing that regular folks will care about - because, hey, you won’t be there. From June 2-4, Target will host an interactive Bullseye Lounge in the Los Angeles Convention Center as a place to cool off while showcasing a few of 2009’s best video game titles from some of its biggest publishing partners.
Aside from previewing new 2009 gaming titles, the Bullseye Lounge will offer attendees (read: media types) a place to recharge, relax and refresh with snacks from Archer Farms, Target’s food owned brand. The Bullseye Lounge will be centrally located in the mezzanine between the main halls. Make a note of it if you’re at E3 this year.

Retailer Target revealed a new reservation program that lets consumers reserve select video game titles. The program, which begins April 19, lets consumers purchase a “collectible” reservation card in stores for $1. When they bring the reservation card back within seven days of release to purchase the game of their choice, they will receive a $5 Target GiftCard to put toward a future purchase. The program will kick-off with titles such as Punch Out!! from Nintendo, EA Sports Active from Electronic Arts, Ghostbusters from Atari, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings from LucasArts, and UFC 2009 Undisputed from THQ.
The hook is that you get a 45 gift card that you can use on other purchases, I guess. If you’d like to learn more, then you probably should check out www.target.com. If you don’t give a damn, then check out these fabulous Video Game Toilets!
Target Gets Exclusive Shaun White Content
It looks like Target’s going to be cashing in a little more on its sponsorship of snowboarding superstar Shaun White. Earlier today, Target and Ubisoft announced that Target stores will be carrying an exclusive edition of Ubisoft’s upcoming sports title, Shaun White Snowboarding when the game is released this Winter.
“Shaun has been riding for Target for nearly seven years, so this exclusive version of Shaun White Snowboarding was a natural fit for our relationship with him,” said Troy Michels, Target Lifestyle Marketing. “It’s great to see the Target brand brought to life alongside Shaun in the game and we’re confident that Target guests and gamers will be eager to see what has come from our collaboration in the Target edition of Shaun White Snowboarding.”
