Street Fighter IV gets super in 2010

Capcom today announced that Super Street Fighter IV, the ultimate vision of Capcom’s newest Street fighter game, will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Spring 2010. The follow-up to Street Fighter IV will feature new and returning characters, more advanced online gameplay, new ultra combos and much more. If you are a long-time fan of the Street Fighter series you already know that this is Capcom’s modus operandi: add more charcters, some new features and release!

Super Street Fighter IV will feature the full roster of 25 characters from Street Fighter IV such as Ryu, Ken, Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus, while adding about eight characters new to the world of Street Fighter IV. The new roster includes classic combatants from previous Street Fighter games like T. Hawk as well as all-new characters such as the mysterious and deadly female fighter, Juri.

Super Street Fighter IV also adds new Ultra Combos and advancements to the online gameplay introduced in Street Fighter IV. Capcom promises to take many of the features introduced in Street Fighter IV and refined them to deliver “the ultimate vision of Street Fighter.” We’ll see.

Street Fighter IV now on Impulse

Stardock passed along word that Capcom’s Street Fighter IV is now available on its digital download platform, Impulse, for $39.99 USD | 37.99 Euros | 29.99 GBP.

Street Fighter IV brings the legendary fighting series back to its roots by taking the moves and techniques of the original Street Fighter II, and infusing them with Capcom’s latest advancements in next-generation technology. Street Fighter IV brings old favorites such as Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li along with new characters including Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus into a brand new world that combines 3D art with 2D action.

If you’re not a fan of the PS3 or Xbox 360 but love Street Fighter, then visit Impulse now. The game is also available via Steam and at retail.

Dream Stick 360 available now

Dream Arcades has released the new Dream Stick 360, an Xbox 360 specific arcade fighting game controller specifically designed for Xbox 360 users. The Dream Stick 360 features authentic arcade buttons, joystick and commercial quality cabinet, windows PC support available via an optional adapter and a whopping $139 pricetag - plus shipping.

The arcade stick works with classic arcade games as well as beat ‘um ups like the latest King of Fighters (coming out in July) and Street Fighter IV. The arcade stick supports such fighting games such as Street Fighter IV, and the upcoming King of Fighters XII at present - along with a number of arcade style video games. The Dream Stick is made with real arcade parts and will be available on June 30 for $159, just in time for the release of Street Fighter IV for PC (an additional adaptor is required for PC use). Dream Stick pre-orders begin today at a special discounted price of $129. The joystick is available in either red or black.

The Dream Stick also offers a number of upgrades including custom button colors (red, blue, green, yellow, black, or white), a headset adaptor kit and custom button layouts of your choosing. These cost on average about $20 each.

Street Fighter IV soundtrack coming May 26

Sumthing Else Music Works will release the Street Fighter IV Original Soundtrack featuring the original music score from Capcom’s popular fighting series, on May 26. The Street Fighter IV Original Soundtrack 2-CD set will be available through Sumthing Else Music Works, at retail through Sumthing Distribution and as a digital release on Sumthing Digital and iTunes.

Sumthing Else Music Works says that Capcom and Hideyuki Fukasawa’s Street Fighter IV Original Soundtrack offers all the beats that highlight the game’s dramatic fights, reflects the Street Fighter characters’ international flavor, and offers new directions for classic Street Fighter melodies. For both long-time Street Fighter fans and newcomers, Street Fighter IV OST is an energetic, ambitious fighting game soundtrack capturing the intense experience of the series.
