Star Wars Clone Wars Lightsaber Duels Announced

LucasArts today announced Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a new game geared towards Nintendo’s Wii platform. The game will offer cartoon style computer-generated imagery from artists at Lucasfilm Animation and combat geared towards the Wii’s unique controls.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels is in development by Krome Studios (Kao The Kangaroo series) exclusively for the Wii, promises Lightsaber battles steeped in the lore of Star Wars. The game will feature all the characters, locations, and epic duels from the all-new Star Wars feature film.

If you have ever dreamt of wielding a real lightsaber, this is probably the closest you are ever going to get. When I was a punk kid, My friends and I would use florescent bulbs to duel. This new game sounds much safer than that.. In fact, it may save some youngsters from taking the beatings that I endured for my stupid behavior. Besides, florescent light bulbs do not last all that long in a lightsaber duel anyway.

The world premiere trailer will debut on Spike TV’s GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley on Friday, June 20. You can also expect to see and hear more about it during this year’s E3 Media and Business Summit in July.
