Well now! There’s a fight brewing between the children of EA for the top spots on the PC gaming sales charts. EA’s newborn MMO Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning took Spore out for the week ending Sept. 20, 2008. Poor, poor EA. WAR took the top spot for the week, followed by Spore, and WAR Collector’s Edition. No big shockers this week - though Stalker Clear: Sky - a standalone expansion of the original game by GSC Gameworld, broke in at number 9 for the week. EA and Activision Blizzard still control the board, with EA holding 7 of the top ten spots and Activision holding 2 spots with World of Warcaft.

Oh, and despite all the tough talk on DRM, Spore is still at the top of the list this week. Full list after the jump.

It just wouldn’t be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game without a delay. Deep Silver announced that the latest expansion, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, has been delayed ever so slightly to September 15. The game was scheduled for release on September 5.

Deep Silver, the games label of Koch Media, said that the delay is due to a problem in manufacturing. As a result, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky has missed its launch date. The digital download release date has not yet been determined yet.

If PC Games are dead, Deep Silver hasn’t gotten the memo yet. The company plans to show off one high profile PC-based game at the E3 Media and Business Summit next week: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

A prequel to the original, Clear Sky puts you in the boots of another stalker who isn’t particularly fond of the last game’ s protagonist Strelok. The game is set one year prior to the events in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and will attempt to fill in some of the details that were left out of the original. Clear Sky will also offer 14 distinct levels, some old and some brand new - but even the familiar levels will be a tad bit different from what you remember. Of course, you can bet that some of the game’s quirkier elements will be tweaked but the gameplay will remain relatively the same.

Deep Silver will also be showing off Secret Files: Tunguska, Gravity, and Pet Vet: Down Under for the Nintendo DS (Secret Files: Tunguska and Gravity will also be available for the Wii). All of these games will be shown by appointment at the Deep Silver booth #401 in the Showcase Pavilion.
