Free Realms now supports five languages

Sony Online Entertainment announced this week that Free Realms now supports five fully-localized and supported languages: French, German, Spanish (Castilian), Spanish (Latin American) and English (UK). Originally launched in English (US) on April 28, 2009, Free Realms is a free-to-play, family-friendly online video game that has more than four million registered players enjoying its virtual world.

All existing and new players can play in any of the supported languages on any Free Realms server, according to SOE, who calls this a “first” for any of its MMO products. Players can begin playing Free Realms in their language of choice by visiting the localized versions of www.FreeRealms.com where a server with the highest population of players playing in their preferred language will be recommended. Chat and profanity filters that support all languages have also been implemented. All languages have full customer service and community team support as well.

Runes of Magic in French and Spanish

Following the launch of the English and German versions of its free-to-play MMORPG, Runes of Magic, Frogster announced plans for the release of French and Spanish language versions of the game. Both new localized versions are scheduled to launch in September to coincide with the launch of the recently announced Chapter II – The Elven Prophecy content update.

The French and Spanish versions will include all of the features available in Chapter I – Rise of the Demon Lord, as well as Elves as a new playable race, two new classes, new game regions, new dungeons and raid instances, a new pet system as well as a new soundtrack. A closed beta test for both new language versions is scheduled to start in July on dedicated servers, which will host the French and Spanish community as the game goes live.

An open beta phase will follow after a final character wipe in August so that players will be able to take their open beta characters with them into the live version. Madden NFL 09 En EspaAol in Stores

Madden NFL 09 En EspaAol has shipped to retail stores for the PS3 and Xbox 360, giving Spanish-speaking football fans a fully translated version of the popular game. The game features Chicago Bears offensive guard, Roberto Garza, on the cover to boot. Offering the same content as Madden NFL 09, Madden NFL 09 En EspaAol also includes exclusive Spanish language content, additional music tracks and Spanish play-by-play and game analysis voice-over by Alvaro MartAn.
