Sonic and the Black Knight Announced
You’ve seen it on the cover of Nintendo Power (the propaganda arm of Nintendo - yeah I said it out loud!) and now Sega has made it official: Sonic and the Black Knight. According to Sega, the new game is part of an adventurous series of stories that began with Sonic and the Secret Rings, this time taking place in the time of King Arthur and the age of Camelot. In Sonic and the Black Knight, the furiously fast hedgehog aims to become a knight with the help of a new cast of characters that teach him what it takes to be a true hero.
The game will take advantage of both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk to pull off a variety of moves, not the least of which is swordplay - a first for a Sonic game. Details are pretty sketchy on just exactly what Sonic will be able to do in this new game, but his fast-paced adventures have proven not to work very well on next-gen consoles, so perhaps it is time for him to slow down and try something else..
Sonic and the Black Knight will be out in Spring 2009. For another Sonic title that slows the pacing down to a crawl, check out Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.
