No matter what anyone thinks of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, consumers are snapping it up. My personal opinion? It’s an okay game - not great, not wonderful, just okay - but I digress.. Less than one week since its release, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide across multiple platforms.
Released on Sept. 16 in North America, Sept. 17 in Australia and Southeast Asia, and Sept.19 in Europe, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has demolished LucasArts sales records around the globe in record time. LucasArts shipped more than 4.3 million units of The Force Unleashed around the world in preparation for the game’s launch and the company says that it has already begun manufacturing and distributing additional copies.
Now that we have the sales data out of the way, I should point out our various The Force Unleashed reviews by Tom Chick, who did not find the game as enjoyable as others did - right after the jump:

Today is the day that Darth Vader’s secret apprentice is finally and fully revealed in LucasArts’ Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, PSP, PS2, and the DS. The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, offering a new perspective and new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy as seen through the eyes of this mysterious new character that is armed with unprecedented powers.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed also breaks new ground on next-generation systems by taking advantage of newly developed technologies like Digital Molecular Matter by Pixelux Entertainment, and euphoria by NaturalMotion. These technologies imbue objects and enemies with the ability to react with realistic behavior and real world physics.
Look for the game in stores today (I have already picked up my copy for the Xbox 360) and be sure to be on the lookout for Crispy Gamer’s review of The Force Unleashed very soon.

LucasArts is delighted with the number of downloads that the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo has garnered since its release on August 21. According to download data from Microsoft and Sony the demo was downloaded 2.3 million times worldwide on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. A great start for a potentially awesome game (if the demo is a good indication of what we can expect).
But the real news, according to LucasArts is that the demo was downloaded one million times in eight days, beating out the previous download record by one day.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed debuts in North America Sept. 16 for Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, and Nintendo DS. The game will also be available Sept. 17 in Southeast Asia and Australia, and Sept. 19 in Europe.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners can take utter delight in the fact that the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo is now available on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. The demo gives players a taste of one of the early levels in the game: the TIE Fighter Construction Facility, under siege by a Jedi General named Rahm Kota. Playing as the Secret Apprentice, you are charged with hunting down and destroying the General and to leave no witnesses alive.
If you paid attention to any of the video coming out of E3 in July, then this level will look very familiar to you. Also included in the demo is a tutorial intended to teach players how to use their Force Grip power.
Jump online and grab it on your favorite system.

It should not come as a shock to anyone that Soulcalibur IV has sold over 2 million copies since its launch on July 29. I’ve been playing the Xbox 360 version of the game and — except for the platform agnostic control scheme in training and in the manual - i’m loving it. While Soulcalibur has always been a popular franchise, it probably doesn’t hurt that several key Star Wars charcters appear in both versions of the game.
Jedi Master Yoda appears in the Xbox 360 version, Darth Vader fights in the PS3 version, and Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice from LucasArts’ Star Wars: The Force Unleashed appears in both versions. Namco Bandai Games did not reveal actual numbers based on platform.
Soulcalibur IV is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB and carries a suggested MSRP of $59.99.

Namco Bandai’s weapon based beat ‘em for the PS3 and Xbox 360 is finally in stores in North America. This retooled fighting game adds a lot of visual extras, new and familiar characters, a refined combat system, new environments, and lots of single and multiplayer modes. The new game also gives Xbox 360 owners access to Yoda, PS3 owners the power to play Darth Vader and both platforms the ability to play the secret apprentice from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
What else can you expect from Soulcalibur IV? Some of the new features include a new damage system that cause visible damage to clothing and armor, environmental destruction, new Critical Finish moves to defeat opponents in one blow, a character creation system that lets you tweak and modify your favorite fighters, and online play on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
Soulcalibur IV is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB and carries a suggested MSRP of $59.99. A limited Premium Edition with exclusive content is available for $79.99, while supplies last. For more information visit www.soulcalibur.com.
