Frogster inks game card deal with Zeevex for Runes of Magic

Frogster America and Zeevex today announced that Diamonds, the currency for the in-game shop of Runes of Magic, can be purchased by using the Zeevex Xtreme Game Card. Zeevex cards are already available in Blockbuster, Toys R Us, and select FYE stores in the U.S., with 7-Eleven, GameStop and Rite Aid availability planned for October. The cards provide an instant access solution to in-game credits in Runes of Magic, removing the hold period associated with some credit card and PayPal transactions. The Zeevex payment method also opens up the game’s purchasable upgrade and enhancement items to anyone with access to one of the participating retail stores.

Zeevex Xtreme Game Cards come in increments of $5, $10, $20, and $25 depending on the retail store. The activated cards carry Zeevex Tokens, which can be converted to Diamonds at www.runesofmagic.com. For Frogster this is a good solution because it eliminates the need to create its own game cards and then get them into the retail stream.

Runes of Magic elven classes detailed

With the upcoming release of the second chapter of Runes of Magic, The Elven Prophecy, the Elves will be playable race in the MMO world of Taborea. Today Frogster announced two new Elf classes, the Warden and Druid, which will be playable when the new content goes live.

Both classes are defined by their close connection with nature, which has a direct influence on the Elves’ special abilities. Wardens have the ability to call upon the power of nature spirits and can connect with woodland plants which strengthen them with the power of the forest. This enables the class to utilize a companion of plant origin which supports the Warden.

The Druid’s abilities are similar to those of a Mage, but they are not restricted to just destructive magical powers. A particularly unique strength they have is the ability to harness Nature’s Power. The Druid collects power in his body during combat and this then brings about special effects which cause many abilities to be strengthened. Furthermore, Druids have versatile healing, support and combat a magic as well as the ability to manipulate various elements.

Both Elf classes have numerous skills which define them. For example, the Warden can cast thorny vines around opponents, which deliver physical damage each second. The Druid in a group situation can raise the speed of attack for group members for a given period of time.
