Mark Cerny to be inducted into AIAS Hall of Fame

The godfather of Crash Bandicoot to be inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame.
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) has announced that Mark Cerny will be the 13th inductee into the Academy’s Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Award will be presented by Brian Allgeier, Creative Director at Insomniac Games, at the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards. The Awards, hosted by Jay Mohr, will take place during the 2010 D.I.C.E.. Summit on Thurs., Feb. 18, at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, and broadcast on IFC-TV February 25.
Cerny will join an elite group of interactive entertainment industry luminaries in the AIAS Hall of Fame including Trip Hawkins (Electronic Arts), Peter Molyneux (Lionhead Studios), Yu Suzuki (Sega), Will Wright (Maxis), John Carmack (id Software), Hironobu Sakaguchi (Square Enix), Sid Meier (Firaxis Games), Shigeru Miyamoto (Nintendo), Richard Garriott (origin Systems), Dan/Danielle Bunten Berry (Ozark Landscape), Michael Morhaime (Blizzard Entertainment) and Bruce Shelley(Ensemble Studios).

New Ratchet and Clank Announced

Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time for the PS3 was announced today by SCEA and Insomniac Games. Concluding the events that began in Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction and Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time will answer some of the series’ biggest questions. After discovering that Clank’s disappearance was engineered by Dr. Nefarious, Ratchet races to save his best friend. Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time promises laughs, witty banter, new space gameplay (read: space battles), new weapons and abilities.
Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time arrives in stores in Autumn 2009.
Sony E3 Press Conference Highlights

Sony’s E3 Press Briefing end a little while ago, and much like it began, it ended with little fanfare. The company tried to drive home the point that, like its PS2 console, the PS3’s path to success is a ten year plan (just like the girlfriend in Big Daddy). Unlike Microsoft, Sony didn’t show us a lot of live gameplay but the video montages flowed like wine. Here are the highlights:
