The King of Fighters XII in stores today

Ignition Entertainment and SNK PLAYMORE have released The King of Fighters XII nationwide for Xbox 360 and PS3. The King of Fighters is a three-on-three fighting featuring 22 hand-drawn 2D characters from SNK’s arcade history - all recreated with brand new 2D high-definition, high-resolution sprites on detailed 2D backgrounds.

The King of Fighters XII features four gameplay modes, new gameplay elements such as Critical Counter Attacks, clan formation (PS3 version only), arcade-style online lobbies, a worldwide online ranking system and more. Characters include favorites from earlier King of Fighters titles including Kyo Kusanagi, Athena Asamiya, Raiden and Leona Heidern. The King of Fighters XII is rated T for Teen and is available for $59.99.

In addition to the roster that includes Batman and superman, the game will give players access to Mortal Kombat favorites Raiden and Kano DC Comics super villain Deathstoke, and the legendary Wonder Woman.

The game is being shown to press and fans at Leipzig Games Convention in Germany this week.
