Prototype, COD4 available via Impulse
Stardock has brought the freshly released Activision game, Prototype, along with the slightly aged Call of Duty 4 to its Impulse digital distribution platform today. Prototype, the brand-new third person open-world, action game can be purchased for $49.99, while Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is available today for $39.99.
Prototype lets gamers take on the role of a being that is the ultimate shape-shifting weapon. You are the prototype: Alex Mercer – a genetically mutated man without memory, armed with amazing shape-shifting abilities, hunting your way to discover what created you and determined to make those responsible pay. As Alex, gamers tear through a densely populated contemporary New York City with amazing agility, consuming anybody that gets in their way, assuming their physical identity, memories and abilities. Call of Duty 4 is an award winning modern day shooter from Infinity Ward that really needs no introduction.
Prototype tops GameFly’s most popular list

Online game rental company GameFly has released its lists of the most popular games for the week ending June 8, 2009, revealing that many of the games announced last week at E3 are getting a decent amount of buzz. The GameFly Top 10 List reflects gamers’ choice from more than 6,000 titles for the Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and PSP consoles. It obviously doesn’t represent games that players are renting, but what “they want to play.” These lists are purely anecdotal, because we don’t know how the information is gathered from users. Prototype coming June 9
Altered genetics, mutations, and consuming game play … literally. It’s coming.
Prototype, the upcoming action game from Radical Entertainment is scheduled to ship June 9 in North America for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. If you live in Europe, shipping will be four days earlier, according to publisher Activision. The game still has yet to be rated, but Activision is assuming an M rating from the Enteratinment Software Rating Board.
The game follows Alex Mercer as he tries to get back his lost memory amd figure out who screwed up his genes. He can assume the shape of any person he consumes, so look out Manhattan. It’s shapeshifters gone wild.
