pop_s_060-640x Prince of Persia Gold actionUbisoft’s new Prince of Persia game has gone gold and will begin shipping to stores for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on Dec. 2. Ubisoft also revealed that the prince’s latest adventure is still available for pre-order. Consumers who pre-order the game will receive the free Limited Edition Upgrade including Collectable Limited Edition packaging, an exclusive look at the making of Prince of Persia, a Prima digital mini-strategy guide full of developer’s secrets to help players master the game, a digital art book that chronicles the game’s journey from concept to final product, the original soundtrack scored by master composer Inon Zur and a whole lot more.

Prince of Persia will carry a suggested retail price of $59.99 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for the PC.

The House of the Dead: Overkill Pre-Order Details

Sega announced that it will offer an exclusive graphic novel to those consumers who pre-order The House of the Dead: Overkill. This special pre-order offer will be available soon from GameStop, GameCrazy and Amazon.com (while supplies last).

That graphic novel, “Prelude to an OVERKILL” tells the stories of Agent Washington and Varla Gunns, on the night before the violent and shocking events of the game take place. Illustrated by Steve Copter, of dissident punk band ‘Black Mekon’, this specially-commissioned comic is only available for those who pre-order the game.

The House of the Dead: Overkill will see Wii owners gunning down zombies in February 2009.

l4d_hospital03_sewers0170_tga_jpgcopy-640x Left 4 Dead Pre-Loading Begins action If you pre-ordered the zombie-riffic first-person shooter, Left 4 Dead from Steam, then you can start pre-loading the game to get ready for its official release on Nov. 18. Personally I am vying for the Xbox 360 version of the game, but I’m sure the PC version is just as awesome.

Those that order the game before it officially launches can get a 10 percent discount on Steam (Xbox 360 users can get the same discount at participating retailers nationwide). Get downloading now and be prepared for some seriously insane zombie action.

Also worth noting today is an incredible bargain from Steam: the Valve Complete Pack. This incredible package offers a ton of Valve’s games for a low, low price of around $99. The package includes Left 4 Dead as well as various Hal-Life and Half-Life2  products, Team Fortress 2 and lots more. A full list after the break.

Lord of the Rings Online Expansion Dated

Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of MoriaThe online version of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth is set to get a little bit bigger next month, as Turbine, Inc. announced today the details of the launch of The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria, the first expansion to its Lord of the Rings Online MMO game. According to Turbine, the new expansion will hit the streets on November 18th in stores across North America and Europe.

Turbine also released details of its Pre-Order and Early Upgrade Programs for Mines of Moria. Players in North America can pre-order the game at participating retailers starting today or they can purchase an early upgrade by Turbine’s website, http://www.lotro.com/moria and get special benefits, including a reduced month subscription rate and special in-game items.

ra3 Warhammer Online Gift for C&C RA3 Pre-Order genresYou have to give Electronic Arts some credit for be pretty smart with its pre-order program for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3. Riding on the coat tails of the popularity related to the Warhammer Online pre-order, the company revealed this week a special bonus item for those that buy Red Alert 3 for use in Warhammer Online.

The item in question is called Kossar’s Helm, a special helmet that players can use in Warhammer Online to transform into a fierce bear. The items are not tradable, are bound to the owner, can be worn at Rank 1 and are activated from the player’s hot bar. By activating “Call of the North” players are transformed into a large silver-furred grizzly bear. The bear is about six feet tall at its shoulders.

This special pre-order reward is in limited quantities and can be obtained by purchasing either the Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Premier Edition, or the regular PC version. Learn more by visiting ea.com.

pop Prince of Persia Pre-Order Details actionIf you fancy ordering the new Prince of Persia game a little bit early, then you may want to hear what Ubisoft plans to give you for your trouble. This week the company announced that those who pre-order the game at select retailers, will receive a free upgraded Limited Edition version of the game.
The FREE Limited Edition Upgrade is only available by pre-ordering and will include the game in collectable limited edition packaging, an exclusive look at the making of Prince of Persia, a Prima digital mini-strategy guide, a digital art book that chronicles the game’s journey from concept to full fledged retail product, the original soundtrack scored by master composer Inon Zur and a few other extra bells and whistles to make POP fans happy.

Ubisoft also revealed a partnership with Penny Arcade for the creation of a comic book based on the new Prince of Persia title. The 32-page comic book will span roughly four times longer than the usual Penny Arcade comic and will allow the Prince’s story to be creatively told in a robust, illustrative format. The comic book will also give readers a unique knowledge of the new Prince of Persia game as well as an enhanced understanding as to the relationship between Elika and the Prince.

Prince of Persia will be available Holiday 2008 for the Xbox 360, the PS3 and PC. Also available this holiday for the Nintendo DS is Prince of Persia: The Fallen King. Look for both at the end of this year.

The Sims 3 Release Date Announced

sims3 The Sims 3 Release Date Announced adventureElectronic Arts today announced at the Leipzig Games Convention that The Sims 3 will be released worldwide at retail and as a digital download on February 20, 2009. The company also announced that The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition will also be in stores on February 20, 2009. The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition will include the full game along with additional collectible The Sims merchandise and a bonus in-game Italian-Style Sports Car unavailable elsewhere.

A limited number of copies of The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition will be available worldwide, and those who pre-order the product from select retailers will receive an additional exclusive in-game vintage sports car and a collectible poster that is a first look at the neighborhood, all available while supplies last.

The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition will include The Sims 3 for PC, The Sims Plumbob USB Drive with matching Green Carabiner, an exclusive in-game Italian-Style Sports Car, a handy dandy tips and hints guide, and The Sims 3 Plumbob Stickers.
