If you liked the tools that Bioware provided for its Neverwinter Nights role-playing game series then take heart in the fact that a toolset is planned for its next big RPG - Dragon Age. The company announced today that it will deliver content-creations tools to the gaming community with the release of its game. the company is also showing off these tools for the very first time at the Penny Arcade Expo in the Washington State Convention & Trade Center today through Sunday.
Attendees of the Penny Arcade Expo will be the first to see the new toolset in action as BioWare will provide a live demonstration of some of its features and capabilities. The Dragon Age Toolset will be part of a stage demonstration during the Penny Arcade Expo at 1:30pm, August 31, on the main stage.
These tools will allow consumers to create their own original adventures, create all kinds of scripts using the included script editor, access to a creator similar to what it set up for Neverwinter Nights and the promises of continual updates to the tools.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, featuring comments from Hothead Games, Penny Arcade Adventures is scheduled for a winter 2008 release on the PS3. Besides offering all the content from the previously released adventure RPG on Xbox 360 and PC, the PS3 version will feature trophies, and will incorporate features from the PlayStation Network like Player Score Rankings.
Those that are lucky enough to bew going to the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle this weekend, can stop by the Hothead Games booth (#1114) to check it out. A panel will also be held there for attendees to participate in. Fun, fun, fun.

The organizers of the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) today sent a reminder that this year’s gaming festival will begin later this week. PAX 2008 is being held August 29-31 and the group expects to draw over 45,000 gamers, industry professionals and media to the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle for the 3-day event.
Attendee badges may be purchased at the door at $30 for a one-day badge or $60 for all three days of the show. Is it any wonder that they expect so many to attend this event, given that most of our industry’s biggest shows are a shut-out for regular gamers? Highlights after the jump:

Microsoft is heading to PAX, like many other publishers (including Sony and Nintendo) later this week in Seattle. During the event, which begins on Friday, Microsoft will showcase a number of its new and upcoming projects including Halo Wars, Project Origin, Gears of Wars 2, the new Xbox 360 interface, Popfly and a special Gears of Wars 2 signing is planned on Saturday and Sunday. Microsoft will also have other titles not listed here available for public play at its booth. Full schedule after the jump.

Yesterday, Hudson announced two new WiiWare titles and today the company announced that it will be showing both of them off at at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle at the end of the week. Those freshly announced games - Alien Crush Returns and Bomberman Blast- will be joined by the previously released Fishing Master world Tour and DECA Sports for the Wii. Hudson will be exhibiting in booth 261 for all three days of the event and players that have not had the opportunity to see these games up close and personal will be able to do so for the very first time.

Meteor Games (an independent game studio created by Neopets founders Adam Powell and Donna Williams) will be showcasing Twin Skies, a community-based MMO for players of all ages , at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle later this week. Meteor Games’ Adam Powell and Donna Williams will be on hand to provide PAX attendees with insight into the development of Twin Skies at booth #581 Fri-Sun, August 29-31; 2:00pm to 7:00pm (Friday); 10:00am to 6:00pm (Saturday); 10:00am to 6:00pm (Sunday).
Twin Skies is a social MMO title for all ages that lets players interact with the main game world through different platforms including the web and mobile phone devices, in addition to the main game world. Details on the game can be found at www.twinskies.com.

If you are a media type and you want special treatment at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), then you have until midnight tonight to get that registration in. The organizers of PAX announced that media pre-registration ends Friday, August 22 at 11:59p.m. Pacific Time.
If you want to sign up for the event as a member of the media you’ll need some credentials like a business card with your name, editorial title, and media outlet logo or (for freelancers) a letter on letterhead from the assigning editor with his/her contact information; a government issued ID, and a recently bylined article written by you.
After August 22, all media registrations will be handled at the show, beginning Friday, August 29 at 2:00pm. Every on-site applicant must bring hard copies of the required credentials and his/her media outlet’s business license to Will Call for on-site processing. PAX staff reserve the right to deny media badges to anyone with insufficient documentation.
