Pearl Jam’s Backspacer coming to Rock Band

Harmonix and MTV Games will deliver Pearl Jam’s new album, Backspacer, to the Rock Band Music Store for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii right around the same time that the album is released at retail stores album hits store shelves Sept. 20, and will be added to the Rock Band Music Store for Xbox 360 on Sept. 20, for Wii on Sept. 22, and for PlayStation 3 on Sept 24.

Ten became available for download in the Rock Band Music Store day-and-date with the reissue of the album March 24, 2009, and has sold more than 850,000 song downloads to date. Pearl Jam is touring in promotion of the new album from August through October in the United States and Europe. Track list below:

Harmonix will release 16 tracks from Mission of Burma, Pearl Jam, The Offspring this week to the Wii Rock Band Music Store. Three songs each from Pearl Jam and Mission of Burma will be added this week, along with songs from The Offspring, Harvey Danger, Panic at the Disco,  and George Thorogood. Track list below:

This week in Rock Band: Pearl Jam and more

Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that three tracks from Pearl Jam will be added to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content next week for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Harmonix also announced that 16 tracks from Weezer, Nine Inch Nails, Dead Kennedys and more coming this week to the Rock Band Music Store Wii catalog.

Pearl Jam songs “Brother,” as well as live recordings of “Alive” and “State of Love and Trust,” from this year’s reissue of the band’s classic debut album, Ten, will be available this week in the Rock Band Music Store. The tracks will be available for purchase as part of the “Ten Bonus Pack” or as individual tracks for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Meanwhile, Wii Rock Band and Rock Band 2 owners will get some new tracks for various artists beginning June 23. All of the new tracks come from the back catalog of Rock Band music already released to owners of Xbox 360 and PS3.

Pearl Jam’s Ten for Rock Band Next Week

pearljam Pearl Jams Ten for Rock Band Next Week online-play Harmonix and MTV Games will bring the ultra popular Pearl Jam debut album, “Ten,” to Rock Band and Rock Band 2 early next week. The album will be released in its entirety for download in the Rock Band Music Store day-in-date with its re-release in stores nationwide, March 24, 2009.

The tracks, which are all original master recordings, include such hits as Even Flow, Jeremy, Black, Oceans, Porch, Garden, Deep, Release, Why Go, Once, and the hidden track Master/Slave.

Gamers can buy tracks individually for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) each, or $17.99 (1440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for the entire album. Look for Ten on March 24th on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.

Pearl Jam originally released Ten on August 27, 1991, going on to sell more than 12 million copies and reaching #2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

More Rock Band 2 Details

Some more details about Rock Band 2 have been revealed today including new modes, tracks and support for third party peripherals. You may have already heard about some of this from Microsoft press briefing (details here and here), but here is a recap for those that missed it.

Rock Band 2 will feature new local and online game modes that made the first game such a hit. World Tour mode goes online, and simplifies things by combining Solo Tour and Band World Tour modes with new collection of opportunity gigs, challenges, cities, venues and hirable staff. Tour Challenges offer mini-campaigns focused on the best songs by instrument, decade, genre, artist, album and more. Battle of the Bands, an online mode, will let players to go head to head against other bands Other modes include Quickplay (which is just what it sounds like), a Drum Trainer mode and - of course - a Character Creator mode.
