Sins of a Solar Empire hotfix released

Stardock has released a hot fix update for its popular strategy title, Sins of a Solar Empire. The update is for both Sins of a Solar Empire and Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment via the Impulse client software and offers the following fixes and changes:

+ Fix for Akkan’s colonize potentially creating neutral resource extractors.

+ Fix for Adept Drone Anima not behaving correctly in original Sins.

+ Fix for NanoHullRepair sound effect.

+ Jam Weapons will now only be autocast when a threshold number of enemy strike craft are in range. (Entrenchment Only)

+ Improved AI and autocast usage for Flak Burst, TelekineticPush, MassDisorientation and PhaseOutFighters. (Entrenchment Only)

+ New AIUseTime for modding: OnlyWhenManyTargetsInRange. (Entrenchment Only)

+ Fixed bug with mines not targetting or detonating if their owner player didn’t have vision at their planet. (Entrenchment Only)

+ Included dll’s to make sure ConvertData runs correctly for modders.

+ Included Developer builds for modders.

Majesty 2 gets an update

Paradox Interactive released a new patch for Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. The first patch adds new game features and addresses issues affecting the overall experience. Majesty 2 players will now have instant access to future game updates with the implementation of an automatic update system that will download new patches and game updates as soon as they become available. Additionally, a “safe mode” is being introduced to Majesty 2 that will make it easier for players to optimize graphic settings.

Also included in the new patch are a bunch of game fixes, addressing issues such as game balancing when casting spells, as well as offering enhanced communication features in the Majesty 2 chat lobbies.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood updated

Ubisoft has released the patch 1.1 for the PC version of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. The patch 1.1 improves the multiplayer experience on Windows-based systems, with Spy, Gunslinger, Hombre, Veteran and Sniper classes balanced to offer improved gunfights.

The patch 1.1 also brings compatibility with Techland’s User Content Creation Package which offers a complete solution for creating and modifying full functional multiplayer and single-player maps. The User Content Creation Package is now available at www.cojmodding.com.

The Witcher update 1.5 coming in July

The Witcher version 1.5 update will be released on July 8, reckons CD Projekt RED.

Version 1.5.The patch focuses on dealing with what’s left of the digital rights management software used in the game’s retail release. The update removes it completely and allows play without the game disc. The release will also feature five fan created adventure modules including Deceits, Blight of the Bogs, Wraiths of Quiet Hamlet, Wedding, and Merry Witchmas. The update will also be included in forthcoming The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut. CD Projekt RED says that more info on that product will be released shortly.

Besides adventures, and DRM removal, the update solves problems associated with EAX and blur.

New Star Soccer 4 update released

A new version of New Star Soccer 4 has been released, bringing the indie developed soccer game to version 4.07. The update includes a much more realistic match engine, improved player and goalkeeper intelligence, various bug fixes and various gameplay tweaks. The game is also now playable in 9 languages including English, Bulgarian, Brazilian-Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.

An updated trial version of the game for Windows and Mac is available now from www.newstarsoccer.com.

EGOSOFT releases X3: Terran Conflict 2.1 update

x3 EGOSOFT releases X3: Terran Conflict 2.1 update actionEGOSOFT has released the 2.1 update patch for X3: Terran Conflict. The update includes a community-developed mission, a performance upgrade, several bug fixes and the continuation of the regular X3 competitions that feature prizes for those players that use the UPLINK facility.
The new mission added in 2.1 is entitled “Treasure Hunt” and was created by the user Ketraar using X3’s Mission Director plug in. Players will have to trek across the X Universe looking for clues to lead them to the ultimate prize.

The Mission Director is a great tool and as an X-veteran,” said mission creator Ketraar. “I wanted to bring a little nostalgia. I hope that gamers will find it fun to play.

The performance upgrade streamlines graphics rendering to produce better frame rates and a generally smoother gameplay. The patch will also bring further improvements to Tractor Beam towing, the Universe Trader, a number of scripts and the “mine minerals” command. There is also a new “Run in Background” ability that allows you to chat or surf the web while the game is running. Some minor bugs have also been addressed with this patch, most notably some graphical and turret configuration issues and the patrol and defend sector commands.
