DiRT 2 races to retail
Codemasters DiRT 2 makes its way onto stores shelves across North America for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP - with a Games For Windows LIVE edition with support for DirectX 11 to follow soon.
The sequel to the popular 2007 racing game delivers a new driving experience with benchmark tech, new race types, a big event atmosphere, new locations, a new batch of off-roading heroes and a line-up of super-charged speed machines. Full online functionality with head-to-head competitive online play and social features are also in the mix. Of course we have all the DiRT on DiRT 2, thanks to Tom Chick’s DiRT 2 review. Thanks Tom.
DiRT 2 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is rated T for Teen and is available for $59.99. The Wii, and PSP system versions are rated E 10+, The DS is rated E for everyone; the Wii version is available for $39.99 and the Nintendo DS and PSP system versions are available for $29.99.

Sequel to Monster 4X4: World Circuit in the works
Ubisoft is working on a new monster truck off-road racing game called Monster 4×4: Stunt Racer for the Wii. Monster 4×4: Stunt Racer puts players behind the wheel of a monster truck as they attempt to race and pull off crazier stunts than the ones found in the previous game - Monster 4X4: World Circuit. Monster 4X4 Stunt Racer key features new stunts and new ways to interact with the enviornment (barrel rolls, back flips, driving up vertical walls, and more)

Players can navigate their way through levels by choosing between different routes that vary in difficulty. Decide between scoring points to gain nitro and taking the racing line to make up time. This includes 50 different challenges across 10 ranks, over 30 side missions, 6 fully upgradable vehicles and 5 unlockable supercars, and plenty of environmental hazards, big jumps and challenges on a variety of different terrain..

DiRT 2 races to retail in Sept.
Codemasters announced this week that it will release DiRT 2 on September 8 in North America. The game will release as Colin McRae: DiRT 2 across EPAC territories on September 10 with a UK street date of September 11. Developed by Codemasters Studios, creators of GRID and powered by the third generation of the EGO Engine, DiRT 2 will be published for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP. A Games For Windows LIVE edition will follow with support for DirectX 11.
The off-road rally racing game sequel promises new race types, locations, a “big event” atmosphere, and a line-up of speed machines. According to Codemasters, DiRT 2 will feature over 100 vents including aggressive, multi-vehicle races and solo challenges set in real-world environments and new race modes like Rallycross, Trailblazer, Raid, Landrush, and Rally..
The game will also offer the world’s best new rally drivers – including the Subaru Rally Team USA driver Ken Block alongside Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra, and Tanner Faust, who will help players build their racing career.

FUEL For Windows released
The Games For Windows edition of Asobo Studio’s racing game FUEL is now shipping to stores in North America, Codemasters announced today. FUEL features 5,560 square miles of open playground to race and explore.
This playground was created based on satellite data from the United States, from Mount Rainier to the Grand Canyon. FUEL also offers more than 70 different kinds of vehicles including bikes, buggies, quads, cars, roadsters, trucks and even a hovercraft, which can be used off-road and on in single player and multiplayer.
Multiplayer options allow up to 16 players to free ride or compete in head-to-head races. Gamers can use the game’s race editor to create events set anywhere in FUEL’s environment and share them online.

MX vs. ATV Announced
THQ today announced MX vs. ATV Reflex, the next installment in the MX vs. ATV off-road racing franchise, is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP and Nintendo DS in Holiday 2009. Developed by THQ’s Rainbow Studios, MX vs. ATV Reflex introduces more robust physics that allow for real-world terrain deformation and a dual-stick control scheme. MX vs. ATV Reflex also promises to deliver a wide variety of race modes, vehicles and worlds to explore while utilizing the all-new Rhythm Racing 2.0 physics engine.

Baja: Edge of Control Released
THQ today announced Baja: Edge of Control for the Xbox 360 and PS3 has shipped to retail outlets worldwide. Developed by the core team behind the MX vs. ATV franchise, BAJA: Edge of Control lets players goo way off-road to conquer all kinds of unpredictable terrain Baja: Edge of Control promises more than 1,000 miles of wild terrain including steep mountains, thick mud and deep canyons ever created. The game also features more than 160 sponsored vehicles in eight classes, including Trophy Trucks, 4×4s and buggies. If you like your off-road racing a bit grittier and more dangerous, then you might want to give this a look.

PURE Soundtrack Detailed
Disney Interactive Studios announced details on the soundtrack for its upcoming game, PURE. PURE is Disney Interactive’s answer to off-road action sports featuring four-wheel vehicles.
