TRINE on PlayStation Network in Sept., says Nobilis

trine TRINE on PlayStation Network in Sept., says Nobilis action

Frozenbyte’s TRINE has been out for quite some time on the PC, but those waiting for the game to make its way to PlayStation Network will have to wait a bit longer. TRINE is a clever action game similar to the Lost Vikings where you control one of three characters at a time, use their specific skills to solve puzzles, and move on to the next challenge.

But PS3 owners are having a different challenge: trying to figure out just when this game will be released on PlayStation Network. On the official Frozenbyte boards, a nameless Frozenbyte employee is helpless to explain why the game keeps missing release dates and when the game will be released. The conversation inevitably devolves as he or she explains that the process is “out of their hands” and that they “don’t know” when it will be released.

Not satisfied with the responses from Frozenbyte, we took the liberty of contacting Nobilis for some information on this mystery.

According to a representative from Nobilis, the game’s publisher, the company is still waiting for approval from Sony.

We’re still in the process approval with Sony,” said the rep. “The game should be available beginning of September.”

Both Nobilis and developer Frozenbyte have apparently been waiting a very long time for that approval. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, many of those consumer holding out for the game on PlayStation Network have given up and purchased the game via Steam - where it has been available for quite some time. We’ll let you know when the game gets approved and when you can expect to find it on PSN when we hear more.

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
