No UMD for Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman

No UMD for Holy Invasion of PrivacyNIS America announced awhile ago that it wanted to release a UMD version of Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!? for retail.

But in order to do so it put a condition on doing it: the company asked fans that were interested in it to help them hit the 1,000 unit pre-order mark.

Almost a month later the company came to the conclusion that this would not happen after all. Why? Because not enough people pre-ordered the game. The company made the following statement in its most recent newsletter to fans:

Unfortunately, due to not meeting our demand of 1,000 units of Preorder, we will not be able to create the UMD version for ?Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!? What Did I Do to Deserve This??. We truly understand your disappointment in not having this item. In the future, we are considering to have the Badman 2 release on UMD. We truly would appreciate your patience and your understanding. Again, we truly apologize for the many inconveniences to all of our valuable fans. Thank you for your continuous support.

So much for a hard copy, right? Fans who wanted it on UMD but didn’t bother to pre-order have only themselves to blame. At least you can still get via PlayStation Netowkr as a digital download.

Atelier Rorona coming to PS3 in summer 2010

NIS America is bringing the PlayStation 3 title, Atelier Rorona, to North America next summer.
The popular alchemic RPG series from Gust makes an evolutionary change with Atelier Rorona and makes a series debut on the PS3. The anime style characters and backgrounds remain, but have been upgraded with a new cel-shaded animation style. The basic game play carries over the tradition of the Atelier series, using alchemy as the main focal point as fans would expect. Like the other games in the series, players can craft new items and also battle enemies using the power of alchemy.

Key features include unique type of turn based battle system where the main attackers can now have a set of support charcters backing them up with various helpful actions, over 100 items to craft, and a whole new set of charcters in an all new storyline.

Look for the game in summer 2010 for the PS3.

Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! 2 announced

Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! 2 announced genresHoly invasion of excitement! NIS America announced that the sequel to the retro classic themed strategy game Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman!: What Did I Do to Deserve This? is in development and coming exclusively to the PSP in Spring 2010. The sequel, Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! 2 promises the same retro-classic art style, simple game play, and plenty of anti-hero strategy fun.

The goal of the game is much the same as the first one: playing as the God of Destruction, you must create a dungeon that is difficult and powerful enough to fend off the human hero invaders who seek to do right and collect treasure. Of course, the dungeon must have a self-sustaining ecosystem, so players must strategically dig and create a space with a balanced food chain. Sometimes human heroes will invade your dungeon, in order to bring peace and harmony to the world. This simply will not do. You must destroy them before they capture the Overlord and take him back to the surface. The game system may be simple, but this sequel will be packed with evolving monsters, different environments, and heroes to dispose of for hours of fun. NIS America claims that, compared to the original game, Badman 2 has 2.5 times more heroes, 3.3 times more monsters, and 4 times more stages to beat.

Look for it in early 2010.

Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days and the return of Axel

NIS America’s Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days, a PSP port of the popular PS2 SRPG sequel, has shipped to the retailers nationwide. The PSP version adds all new story chapters with a new main character, Axel, other new characters, skills, items, and battle system. Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days tells the tale of the peaceful world of Veldime, where humans rarely encountered monsters. That was until Overlord Zenon cursed the land and all who reside within. With the curse in place, the humans became monsters and ravaged the world.

Playing as Adell, the last remaining human, players set out on a journey to oppose Overlord Zenon’s tyranny and restore peace and harmony to Veldime. Battles take place on a 3D grid-based field. During combat, players take turns with the enemy to move and attack. Key features include all new story chapters starring fan favorite Axel, new battle features lifted from disgaea 3 (Magichange and Toss and Pass) and all new playable charcters, items and skills.

NIS America announced today that the release date for Phantom Brave: We Meet Again has been pushed back to Friday August 14, 2009. The reason for the change, according to NIS America, is due to unexpected delays related to Wii disc manufacturing.
