Madden NFL 10 now available on iPhone
EA Mobile has launched Madden NFL 10 for iPhone and iPod on the App Store giving football fans yet another distraction even when they are on the go. Madden NFL 10 brings the football franchise to the App Store, giving players the ability to play through an entire season, including playoffs and the Super Bowl, complete with color commentary from John Madden himself. I hope he doesn’t say “BOOM” or some about Ace Hardware.
Madden NFL 10 for Apple’s platforms also features favorite NFL players from all 32 licensed teams, and a roster management feature that allows players to take control over their team’s depth charts, cross-team trading, and access to free agent pools.
Players can choose the “Play Now” mode for a quick fix, or “Season” mode to play through an entire NFL season. Finally, players use the Multi-Touch controls to control everything in the game from drawing hot routes for passing plays to slowing down the speed of the game to make choosing the right move easier.
For more info on Madden NFL 10, check out Apple’s App Store.

Retired Players Put Spotlight on Madden Deal
Retired NFL players, unhappy that the NFL Players Association’s licensing deal with EA for the Madden franchise that cut them out of the mix and didn’t pay them a dime for using a likeness of them in a special classic matchup mode in the latest game , recently kicked off a class action suit in New York. The suit, fronted by Hall of Famer Herb Adderley represents 2,000 retired players that feel ripped off by the NFLPA. But Madden is not the only thing retired players take issue with; the suit aleges that the union has also undercut them with deals made for trading cards and other merchandise.
For its part the union says that companies are not interested in paying for the licensing rights of older players and that some companies have specific deals that target new “bankable players.”
