Need For Speed - The Event
Today at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Electronic Arts announced Need for Speed Live, a festival and competition that celebrates car culture - and of course, EA’s popular racing franchise. This first-time event will be open to the public and will be hosted next summer at the Brands Hatch Circuit located near London, England. The weekend-long experience will be showcase of entertainment, videogames, music, car shows and displays designed to appeal to fans of racing games, fans of exotic cars and motorsports enthusiasts.
Need for Speed Live will invite the world’s top drifters and time attack cars from across Europe, North America and Japan to gather in one location to compete in a battle of the continents. Need for Speed Live will also include demonstrations by some of the world’s most famous race and exotic cars in a manufacturer time attack exhibition.
PS3 Greatest Hits Unleashed
Sony Computer Entertainment kicks off the PS3 Greatest Hits program this week, giving consumers a cheaper retail price point for select best selling PS3 game titles. Retailing for $29.99 each, games making the first Greatest Hits list include Warhawk, Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, Call of Duty 3, EA Sports Fight Night Round 3, Need for Speed: Carbon, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas, Assassin’s Creed, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
If you missed these games when they were originally released, the lower price point should prove to be a strong motivator to get out there and buy them.
