Namco Bandai Games , Ninja Theory team for Enslaved

Namco Bandai Games America revealed a new game it is working on with Ninja Theory called Enslaved today for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Ninja Theory’s Enslaved takes players on a journey with two dissimilar characters that form an uneasy union in order to survive in a post-apocalyptic America. A tactical action-adventure game, Enslaved centers on the complex relationship between the two main characters and challenges players to employ a mix of combat, strategy and adventure to survive.

Set 150 years in the future, so as not to make present day players think about the real horros of an all-out nuclear war (just saying), the world has transformed into an unrecognizable state where all that remains are a dwindling human population and merciless robots left over from wars long past. In Enslaved, players take on the role of Monkey, a strong and brutish loner, and his AI partner Trip, a technologically savvy but sheltered young woman from a peaceful community. Both are captured by a mysterious slave ship, which is rumored to harvest people and take them out west never to return. As they each attempt to escape, Trip realizes quickly that Monkey, with his raw strength and power, is the only hope she has of making the perilous journey back home. She hacks into a slave headband to enslave Monkey and link them together – if she dies, he dies. Her journey has now become his.

Players must make sure both Monkey and Trip work together as they navigate the wasteland, but it is full of danger and peril. Monkey uses his trusty staff weapon to attack and defend against enemies and uses takedown moves, allowing him to rip an enemy apart piece by piece, take its weapon for his own use or destroy it in one final blow.

Interesting concept but we’ll have to see and hear more before we get all giddy like school girls. More info when we have it.

Katamari Forever right now, but not forever

Namco Bandai Games America has released Katamari Forever on PS3. Katamari Forever promises the largest collection of stages, modes, songs, and cousins to date in a Katamari release. This includes remixed classic Katamari Damacy tunes, a brand-new storyline, multiple new visual effects and 1080p graphics as well.

Katamari Forever tasks players to roll up as many everyday objects as possible within a time limit set by the Prince’s father, the King of All Cosmos. As more objects are rolled up, your katamari becomes bigger, allowing you to pick up even larger items. Thumb tacks, sushi, cats, people, houses, sky scrapers and ocean liners – nothing is off limits. If your mom was in this game (and she might be, I haven’t played it) even she would not be off limits. In addition to all the rolling around, the Prince has been practicing his royal jumping abilities, and using the PS3’s SixAxis controls, the Prince is now able to hop over large objects that stand in his way.

Katamari Forever is rated “E” for everyone by the ESRB and carries a MSRP of $49.99.

Katamari Forever demo now on PSN

The sequel to the immensely popular Katamari series, Katamari Forever sees players rolling up as many everyday objects as possible within a time limit set by the Prince’s father, the King of All Cosmos. As more objects are rolled up, your katamari becomes bigger, allowing you to pick up even larger items. Thumb tacks, sushi, cats, people, houses, sky scrapers and ocean liners – nothing is out of bounds as the Prince rolls his way through the game.

Katamari Forever also features a brand new art style along with multiple unlockable graphic filters. The new changeable graphic filters give Katamari Forever a certain look and feel; Wood Tone transforms everything in the world into carved out wooden blocks while Comic Book paints the screen with deep, rich colors. Players looking to take a trip down memory lane can switch to Original and re-create the series trademark visual style in 1080p.

Katamari Forever will be released on September 22, 2009 with an ESRB rating of “E” for Everyone and carry a MSRP of $49.99.

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
