Mega Man 10 Bosses Revealed
Written on January 14, 2010 at 1:01 pm, by Richard Rodriguez

A list of new foes for the Blue Bomber to face in Mega Man 10.
The Mega Man 10 bosses have been officially revealed, via CoroCoro Comic in Japan. The list and description, reprinted below, is courtesy of TheMMNetwork.com.
Commando Man: Attacks with a powerful explosive wave.
Blade Man: Attacks with three swords.
Nitro Man: Can transform into a motorcycle. (Perhaps Turbo Man’s little bro?)
Sheep Man: Splits up and creates lightning strikes (revealed last month by Nintendo Power).
Solar Man: Absorbs attacks and attacks with solar energy from his head.
Chill Man: Fires an icy shot. (Curiously, he seems to be called Chilled Man in here.)
Pump Man: Has a water-themed shield weapon.
Strike Man: Throws a powerful fastball.
One thing to note is that there is no female robot as introduced in Mega Man 9. We also do not know what powers Mega Man will gain from these bosses, though we could easily speculate based off the attacks listed above.
Mega Man 10 has a tentative release date of March 2010 and will be available on WiiWare, PSN and Xbox LIVE.

Xbox Live 2008 Data Puts Halo 3 on Top
Written on January 6, 2009 at 5:06 am, by James Fudge
Microsoft’s Major Nelson released Xbox Live statistics for 2008, revealing that Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 were the most played games online, and that Castle Crashers was the top seller on Xbox Live Marketplace. In the top five, Gears of War 2 and GTA IV were the only games published in 2008 that made the list. Full lists after the jump.

Mega Man 9 Gets New DLC This Week
Written on October 20, 2008 at 10:58 am, by David Chapman
Can’t get enough of the retro goodness that is Mega Man 9? Don’t worry, because Capcom’s got you covered. The publisher announced that a second wave of downloadable content for the game will be available on the WiiWare Channel, Xbox LIVE Arcade, and PlayStation Network starting this week. Here’s the rundown on what’s in the DLC packs:
- Hard Mode
Dubbed Hero Mode in Japan, this mode enables you to play the entire game on an increased difficulty level with alternate enemy distribution and spawning points. Hard Mode is not compatible with Rankings or Challenges Modes.
- Expert Mode
Dubbed Super Hero Mode Japan, this mode represents the apex of Mega Man 9 difficulty settings and is not for the novice Mega Man 9 player. This mode triples the level of difficulty from the default Mega Man 9 game. Expert Mode is not compatible with Rankings or Challenges Modes.
- Special Time Attack Stage
This DLC gives you an additional stage for Time Attack Mode, complete with an all new level and Robot Master Boss, “Fake Man.” Similar in difficulty to the Willy Stages, players will have a fun time tackling this time sensitive competitive stage. Special Time Attack Stage is not compatible with Challenge Mode.
All three DLC packs will be ready for download starting today on the WiiWare Channel today, with XBLA following on October 21th and PSN releasing October 23th.

Mega Man 9 Hits PSN Today
Written on September 25, 2008 at 12:46 pm, by James Fudge
Slight Update: I erroneously reported that Mega Man 9 was “available now” when it is in fact not available yet. The game will go live sometime today. Original story below:
PlayStation 3 owners waiting for Capcom’s Mega Man 9 better get their wallets out because it is now available on the PlayStation Store. Available for $9.99, the game is identical to the WiiWare release that hit the Wii earlier this week. The Blue Bomber returns to his roots in this 9th adventure of the original storyline. This brand new adventure offers stylized 8-bit graphics and mechanics along with a familiar level of difficulty that makes it feel like a true Mega Man game.
Get your copy by logging onto the PlayStation Store now. Check out the video after the jump to get a taste of the PSN version:

Mega Man 9 Hits WiiWare
Written on September 22, 2008 at 5:51 pm, by James Fudge
Capcom’s Mega Man 9 is now available via WiiWare for a mere 1,000 Wii Points. Mega Man 9 is a return to the series’ roots, offering retro graphics, classic gameplay, classically light storytelling and a return of all your favorite friends and enemies. My first impression of the game? It’s a lot of fun looks great and is as hard as hell. Perhaps my reflexes are not quite they used to be. Still, I’m enjoying the game and appreciate the extra work it took to make this game look and play like a classic Mega Man game. Look for the game in the Wii Shop Channel under WiiWare beginning today.
Mega Man 9 Gets Proto Man DLC
Written on September 21, 2008 at 11:29 pm, by James Fudge
Proto Man, who has appeared in countless Mega Man titles since Mega Man 3 on the NES, will be making a triumphant return in Mega Man 9 – as downloadable content. According to Capcom, Proto Man will be released as downloadable content on all three platforms. The DLC will be released the week of Oct. 6 for Wii (200 Wii Points), PS3 ($1.99) and Xbox 360 (160 MS Points).
While this is certainly good news for fans of Mega Man’s alleged brother, the good news is that we’re not forced to play him if we don’t like him. For those of you that do, at least the option is there for you. Mega Man 9 will be released on the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 beginning this week. Details on that can be found in this Crispy News Story.

Mega Man 9 Dated
Written on September 20, 2008 at 8:01 pm, by James Fudge
The wait is almost over: Mega Man 9 hits North America next week, but platform agnostics will have to wait longer than others. Wii owners will get the Blue Bomber’s adventure on Sept. 22 for 1000 Wii Points, PS3 owners will be able to pick it up on Sept. 25 for $9.99 from the PlayStation Store, and Xbox 360 owner will find it available from Xbox Live Marketplace on Oct. 1 for 800 MS Points.
I have to say, $10 for an original piece of downloadable content that could probably sold at retail is quite the deal. The original Mega Man series jumped the shark in a few places that I won’t mention so it is good to see that Mega Man will (we hope) return the series to its roots.
