Marvel vs. Capcom 2 now available on PSN

PlayStation 3 owners may be happy to hear that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is finally available today through PlayStation Network or through a limited retail release exclusively at GameStop in North America for $14.99. The added bonus of picking up the GameStop retail box is that, besides getting a redemption code to download the game over PlayStation Network, consumers get a month’s subscription of digital comics at Marvel.com. Only 15,000 copies of the retail box are available at GameStop, according to Capcom.

Marvel VS. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes released

Capcom has released Marvel VS. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes for Xbox LIVE Arcade today. Marvel VS. Capcom 2 features a total of 56 characters from both the Capcom and Marvel universes. From the world of Capcom comes characters such as Ryu from the Street Fighter series, Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil games and unofficial company mascot Mega Man. Marvel is represented by some of its biggest names, including the Invincible Iron Man, Captain America, and War Machine. Players can mix and match from both worlds in order to create their own ideal three character team.

Marvel VS. Capcom 2 is rated T for Teen by ESRB and is available for 1200 Microsoft Points. Marvel VS. Capcom 2 will be available on August 13 via PlayStation Network for $14.99. On a slightly related note, Capcom Marvel VS. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes producer Rey Jimenez has revealed more details on the stat tracking system for the game on the Capcom Unity Blog.

Capcom’s Comic-Con plans revealed

Games being features at Comic-con this year include Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth­ (with a never-before-seen demo, says Capcom), Lost Planet 2, Dark Void, Tatsunoko VS Capcom Ultimate All-Stars, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Resident Evil: The Dark Side Chronicles and Fate/Unlimited Codes. Capcom will be situated in Hall G in booth # 5113, Wednesday, July 22 – Sunday, July 26.

There you’ll be able to catch events like tournaments for Tatsunoko VS Capcom Ultimate All-Stars and Marvel VS Capcom 2 and 8 free Monster Hunter Freedom Unite quests that you can download if you bring your PSP and your game to the booth.

Spyborgs, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Resident Evil 5 PC dated

Capcom announced that its arcade-style brawler Spyborgs will be available exclusively for the Wii on Tuesday, September 29 in North America. In Spyborgs, players take control of heavily armed cyborgs as they pursue a nefarious traitor. These warriors will come together in 2-player co-op to face over 35 stages of challenges filled with epic boss battles and enemies that only a team of two can defeat! Spyborgs is rated T for Teen by the ESRB at an MSRP of $49.99.

Capcom also revealed that its reimagining of the classic multi-universe beat ‘em up, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, will be available via PlayStation Network on Thursday, August 13 for $15. Finally, the company announced that Resident Evil 5 for the PC will be released on September 15, 2009 in North America and September 18 in Europe.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Dated for Xbox Live Arcade

Capcom announced this morning that it will release Marvel vs. Capcom 2 globally as part of Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade through Xbox Live on Wednesday, July 29 for 1200 Microsoft Points.

The latest game in this fighting game where the most popular characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes collide, will offer a total of 56 playable characters such as Ryu from the Street Fighter series, Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil games and the blue bomber, Mega Man. Some of the Marvel characters to be playable in the game include the Invincible Iron Man, Captain America, and War Machine. Best of all, players don’t have to take sides - they can mix and match from both universes in order to create their own ideal three character team-up.

Other features include a new online matching mode, including Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix’s Quarter Match mode; a new and completely optional visual filter features that smoothes out the game’s graphics, and a four button control system that is compatible with the Mad Catz Street Fighter IV joysticks and Fight Pad.
