Halo 3: ODST goes on tour in America’s
Hey there Halo fan boys and girls, if you can’t wait for Halo 3: ODST to deploy on September 22 then you’ll want to check out the Halo 3: ODST GameStop Tour when it drives through your city (or one that’s close by). From August 22 - September Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson and Bungie will drive The Halo 3: ODST Transport Vehicle across America breaking hearts and taking names - oh, and showing off ODST.
The action begins this Saturday, Aug. 22, in Redmond, Washington at the Redmond Town Center GameStop (17128 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA). The “Halo 3: ODST” Transport Vehicle deploys at noon and will remain active until 8:00 p.m giving fans in each city of the tour the opportunity to experience the all new Firefight multiplayer mode in Halo 3: ODST and score Halo swag for proving their skills (all participants must be age 17 or older, sorry teenage boys with haircuts like the Jonas Brothers and that idiot from high School Musical).
Built from a modified M820A2 expandable truck, the Halo 3: ODST is a mobile gaming experience measuring 27 feet long and 14 feet wide when fully expanded, and weighing at 13 tons. It’s also a Halo party on wheels, according to Microsoft, with eight Xbox 360 console rigs featuring Halo 3: ODST, ready for play.

Red Faction: Guerrilla - Demons of the Badlands
Red Faction: Guerrilla - Demons of the Badlands is now available for the Games for Windows version of THQ’s third-person action game set on the oppresive red sand of Planet Mars. Earlier in the day Xbox Live’s Major Nelson had announced that the DLC was available for the Xbox 360, but that turned out to be a false start. Demons of the Badlands is an all new single player game that serves as a prequel chapter set in the Red Faction universe.
The new content takes place in Mariner Valley, the once peaceful home of the Marauder people, which has been torched and defiled by the EDF. The Marauders demand vengeance and Samanya leads the revolt. Set several years before the arrival of Alec Mason on Mars, players take control of Samanya to explore the Mariner Valley outside of Tharsis. The DLC also offers 7 new weapons including the Spiker machine gun and Marauder Missilepod, 3 new vehicles including the Punisher walker and 11 new actions including raids and demolitions.

Microsoft Working on Gamertag Glitch
Earlier this week, word came out that a number of Xbox owners were running into problems with their Gamertags evaporating into the ether. The culprit? Microsoft’s Windows LIVE ID. Anyone who spends enough time online is familiar with Microsoft’s global ID system, which lets users log into everything from Windows Messenger to Hotmail to Xbox.com. Well, it seems that if users don’t log in using their Windows LIVE IDs every so often, the systems flags it as dormant and purges all services associated with it. The kicker? Gamertags are among the services that get linked to Windows LIVE IDs, meaning that Xbox owners with dormant IDs trying to recover their Gamertags have found themselves S.O.L.
Apparently, the problem has gotten enough attention this week that Microsoft’s Director of Programming, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, decided to address the issue directly in a post on his blog earlier this morning.

Microsoft Comments On Recent XBL Bans
It seems like a lot of 360 owners got a rude awakening this week, as various forums were lit up with reports of sweeping bans from Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE service. While most of the posters seemed stunned by the action, a common thread from many of these posters involved them having played “backup copies” or “early copies” of games like Gears of War 2, and using modified 360s to do so.
Well, if these guys had any doubts as to why they were banned, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, decided to clear things up over at his official blog:

Xbox 360 E3 Hub Goes Live
Microsoft’s Xbox crew is gearing up for E3 next week with the launch of the official E3 Xbox 360 Hub Page, which the team promises will deliver lots of behind the scenes stuff including interviews, coverage of Microsoft’s press event and a whole lot more.
While i’ m looking forward to the coverage don’t expect any editorial that doesn’t tow the company line or any biting commentary on Microsoft’s press events and platform. Still, employees of Microsoft will probably be able to bring you deeper coverage because.. well they work for Microsoft. Anyway, you can visit the site right here.
The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
