Resident Evil 5 Dominates March Software Sales

yuden0125-00000_bmp_jpgcopy-640x Resident Evil 5 Dominates March Software Sales actionCapcom’s Resident Evil 5 outsold every other video game in March, according to software and hardware sales data for the month from NPD Group. Resident Evil 5 on the Xbox 360 managed to move 938,00 units, while its PS3 counterpart did a respectable 585, 000 units. Pokémon Platinum Edition managed to move 805,000 units in March, followed by Halo Wars for Xbox 360 with 639,000 units, Wii fit with 541,000, MLB 09 with 305,000, Killzone 2 with 296,000, and Wii Play with 281,000.

NPD group noted that video games sales for March were down by about 17 percent from the same  period last year.

unsc_wallpaper-640x Shipping Out - March 2 - 4, 2009 actionYou’ve heard everyone talk about Halo Wars and maybe you’ve even played the demo but this week you’ll be able to go to GameStop or Best Buy or wherever the hell it is you buy games, and pick up a copy. No more second hand accounts for you, my friend. Another strategy game, Empire: Total War, hits the PC this week as well - along with a fancy collector’s edition for those that have extra money during these hard, hard times.

Also out this week of general importance three new baseball games for various platforms, Tom Clancy’s HAWX, Tomb Raider Underworld for the PS2 (which I suspect will sell better than other platforms) several SpongeBob games (you know, for the kids), Sonic and the Black Knight and the promising Phantasy Star Portable.
