Psychonauts invades Good Old Games
Good Old Games GOG.com is now offering select games from Majesco Entertainment. The agreement brings Psychonauts, BloodRayne, BloodRayne 2 and Advent Rising to the GOG.com catalog. As part of today’s announcement, GOG.com has released Psychonauts for $9.99 and Advent Rising for only $5.99. Pretty cool.
Created by Tim Schafer - before he created Brutal Legend - Psychonauts is a classic action-adventure game that is considered a cult classic by many a gamer. In fact, Scott Jones recently re-reviewed the game right here on Crispy Gamer. Advent Rising is a sci-fi themed action-adventure game that features a script written by Orson Scott Card, the author of Ender’s Game and Speaker for Dead, both awarded the Hugo and Nebula awards.
As always both games are DRM-free and compatible with Windows XP and Vista. Other titles from Majesco’s catalogue will be added in the coming weeks.

Majesco in pact with Tetris Online for DS and Wii games
Majesco Entertainment and Tetris Online have inked a strategic partnership to support the North American launch and distribution of two new TETRIS games for Wii and DS. Both games are expected to launch in spring 2010. Further details on the new games were not divulged at press time, but one could imagine these games involve falling blocks, large L’s and T’s. Hundreds of millions of players have played and enjoyed this unique puzzle gameplay since its debut on the Game Boy.
Tetris Online, as you can guess, is the exclusive online licensee of The Tetris Company and holds all rights to TETRIS in North America and Europe. Founded in January 2006 by Minoru Arakawa, Henk Rogers and Alexey Pajitnov, Tetris Online also develops TETRIS games (duh). Titles include Tetris Party for WiiWare, Tetris Splash for Xbox LIVE Arcade, and Tetris Friends Online Games, which can currently be found at www.tetrisfriends.com.
Majesco announces The Daring Game for Girls
Majesco Entertainment today announced The Daring Game for Girls for Wii and Nintendo DS. In this adventure title based on the bestselling books published by the William Morrow imprint of HarperCollins, players (and by players we mean teen and tween girls) can achieve take a dreamy adventure by successfully completing a series of challenges.
The Daring Game for Girls is an adventure that lets players take part in activities straight from the book. Players can pick from one of several character models, play games, earn gear and collectibles and more. Those missions include spy missions, cave exploration, freeze tag, double dutch, basketball, arts and crafts, managing a corner stand, making friends, and more. Players will also learn educational facts about famous women in history and use that knowledge to ace Pop Quizzes.
Developed by WXP, The Daring Game for Girls on Wii and Nintendo DS is expected to release in October 2009.

Puffins: Island Adventure released
Majesco Entertainment has released Puffins: Island Adventure for Nintendo DS to retail stores nationwide this week. Developed by Other Ocean Interactive, Puffins: Island Adventure challenges players to tackle the challenge of daily life as a small black and white seabirds with brightly colored beaks through single player adventure, mini-games, and multiplayer.
In Puffins: Island Adventure, players become part of a Puffin flock where they will learn to fly, dive, swim, explore, start a family and more. Players will face 100 events including The Puffin 500, Puffin Plummet, Tide Pool Fishing, Dive Fishing, Egg Roll, Feeding Time and more. Players can also challenge up to three friends to a multiplayer game over Local Wireless or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The game retails for just under $20.

Turn the world on its head with Flip’s Twisted World
Majesco Entertainment today announced Flip’s Twisted World for Wii, a puzzle platformer where players navigate worlds where up and down, and left and right are only a matter of perspective. Developed by Frozen North Productions, Flip’s Twisted World is expected to launch in January 2010.
Players navigate the world by rotating the environment 90 degrees in any direction with a simple twist of the Wii Remote. Doing this changes the environment; pits become passages and obstacles transform into openings once players change their point of view. As you progress through the game you’ll meet many unique characters - some helpful, others hurtful - and collect five magic tools to aid in the journey home. Optional side quests let players unlock bonus goodies and alternate costumes, while finding pieces of a lost journal reveals secrets of the magic universe’s past.
Flip’s Twisted World features original music from video game composer Tommy Tallarico, who has scored over 250 games and won numerous international awards for his work. A playable demo will be available in Majesco’s meeting room #514 at the E3 2009 Expo at the LA Convention Center from June 2 - 4. To watch the trailer and find out more about the game, visit

Cooking Mama: 4 Million Units and Counting
Majesco’s Cooking Mama franchise has sold 4 million copies to date on various platforms, the company announced this morning. That 4 million units number is spread out across five titles including Cooking Mama for DS, Cooking Mama: Cook Off for Wii, Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends for DS, Cooking Mama World Kitchen for Wii, and the newest game in these series Gardening Mama for DS.
The Wii games retail for $29.99, while the DS games retail for $19.99. Majesco did not break down the numbers by title, nor did it reveal how much the franchise has raked in to date. Still a pretty impressive number for a series of casual games about cooking.. and now gardening.
Majesco Posts Huge Jump in Profits
Okay Majesco. Apparently someone forgot to send you the memo, but the world economy has gone to pot and no one is supposed to be actually making any money. How could you buck the trend and not only turn a profit last quarter, but boast a 75.8 percent jump in revenue?
All kidding aside, it was a great day for Majesco investors yesterday. The same day the market saw Take-Two post $50 million in losses, Majesco filed its numbers for the first 2009 quarter, laying claim to a 75.8 percent increase in revenue over the same time last year,
