Bird Brain now available for iPod Touch, iPhone

birdbrain Bird Brain now available for iPod Touch, iPhone platforms Legacy Interactive has released Bird Brain for iPhone and iPod touch. Bird Brain is a trivia game with an insulting name, because if you’re dumb then someone might call you a bird brain, a dolt, dullard, moron, etc. You get my drift, and if you don’t then you probably are a bird brain.

The challenge of this game is to figure out the order of the trivia questions presented in 20 seconds or less. Trivia questions could be about locations of U.S. landmarks, sizes of dog breeds, ages of the Kardashian sisters (not who has the biggest butt, because everyone knows the answer to that question), and more. Each question requires ranking answers in relation to each other: big to small, newest to oldest, north to south, etc. With 10 rapid-fire questions per round, players must use quick thinking and faster fingers to arrange their list in proper order.

Bird Brain is available for $.99 on iPhone and iPod touch from Apple’s App Store or at www.birdbraingame.com.

This story reminds me of a commercial I saw about getting grilled chicken on a value menu for less than a buck. Word on the street is that you can.

Emergency Room: Real Life Rescues in stores

Legacy Interactive’s Emergency Room: Real Life Rescues is available at retail for Nintendo DS today in North America. In this new paramedic simulation video game, players jump into the boots of rookie Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at a busy metropolitan hospital in Harbor City. Player work up the ranks by successfully dealing with a series of medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests, car accidents, and deadly gunshot wounds. The politics of a financially struggling hospital looking to cut costs at every corner also weighs in on the game play.

Emergency Room: Real Life Rescues includes 30 “realistic cases” ranging from basic first aid to life-threatening traumas. Initial cases have less serious implications and there are fewer medical steps needed to stabilize the patient. Later cases are more complex, however, and advanced medical tools such as a defibrillator, bag valve mask and inhalator are unlocked in order to successfully treat patients in the field. After successfully completing the more challenging cases, the player is promoted through the EMT ranks.

It’s like taking a ride in a real ambulance without the $5000 bill. Emergency Room: Real Life Rescues has an MSRP of $19.99 and is available at retailers nationwide as well as online at www.legacyinteractive.com.

Legacy announces Ghost Whisperer: Shadowlands

Casual games developer and publisher Legacy Interactive today announced a licensing agreement with CBS Consumer Products that will expand their roster of TV-licensed games. Part of the deal will see Legacy will develop a video game based on the popular CBS drama series Ghost Whisperer.

Players will take on the role of Melinda Gordon, a young woman living in Grandview, who has inherited a “sixth sense,” or the ability to see and communicate with ghosts.

Naturally, these earthbound spirits have unfinished business in our world preventing them from “crossing over” into the light. While trying to live as normal a life as possible with her paramedic husband, Jim, and as an owner of the antiques shop, Same As it Never Was, Melinda helps ghosts find resolution and pass over to the other side.

The game’s stories are penned by Emmy award-winning television writer Lance Gentile, with gameplay consisting of light adventure and hidden object-style game play where players need to help the recently departed move on to the afterlife and provide closure to loved ones left behind.

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
