The Burn Zombie Burn! PlayStation Home Space

Kuju Entertainment and developer Doublesix have announced that Sony has opened the first graveyard in PlayStation Home, in the brand-new Burn Zombie Burn! PlayStation Home Space. The Burn Zombie Burn! PlayStation Home Space incorporates the cartoony art style and quirky sense of humor of the game. Players wandering the Burn Zombie Burn! graveyard will see statues, crypts and a maze, among other surprises.

The Burn Zombie Burn! PlayStation Home Space includes three crypts, and those brave enough to explore them will find the first two filled with Burn Zombie Burn! goodies and extras, including a hedge maze mini-game for up to six players. The third crypt, on the other hand, remains a mystery, though music and flashing lights offer some clue as to what lies behind the stone door.

OneBigGame Selects Board of Directors

Non-profit game publisher OneBigGame announced who will sit on its Board of Directors. Industry heavyweights taking positions on the board include Mark DeLoura, Videogame Technical Consultant; Jamil Moledina, Executive Director of the Game Developers Conference; Ian Baverstock, CEO of Kuju Entertainment and Chairman of TIGA, and Susan Marshall, Assistant Director of OneBigGame.

Founded by Guerrilla co-founder Martin de Ronde, the concept for OneBigGame is based on the belief that videogames are perfectly placed to raise funds for charity as well as raise awareness among audiences for the causes it supports. OneBigGame says that it wants to raise funds to help solve problems afflicting children around the world.

Basically developers pledge to create games specifically for OneBigGame, who then sells these games via its digital download portal. It will then use the profits for charity. At first these charities will be international organizations that have an impact on a large number of people. The company will only deduct the costs of running the organization and hosting the games portal, according to its official site.

It’’s a noble idea that can work if the company does a good job of promoting the games and selling them. Mostly it reaffirms that the game industry does more harm than good, despite what its detractors would have the general public believe.

Kuju Invades America

Kuju Entertainment, the developers behind the recently released Rail Simulator game for PC, have crossed the pond to open up shop here in the United States, the company announced today. The new U.S. office has been christened Kuju America and is located in the San Francisco Area — a location selected for its proximity to the industry and the media that covers it.

The company says that work has begun on its very first title and that it plans to attend the Game Developers Conference in February. The studio is lead by John Kavanagh and its main focus will be on the casual games market.

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
