Undercroft released for iPhone and iPod

Undercroft is an adventure set in a fantasy world full of magic and monsters that combines the atmosphere of classic role-playing games with plenty of new features, and brings it all together with decent graphics and clever level design.

The game promises 20 hours of gameplay, a party system that lets you control multiple characters, a plot with dozens of quests and plenty of side-quests for extra experience, a turn-based combat system , five classes with a variety of skills and spells, more than 750 items, 60 types of enemies and a variety of environments to explore.

Throat Detonator hits iPhone, iPod Touch

MusiGames has released Throat Detonator for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. This quirky little game gives players the job of saving the world using their own voice. Throat Detonator is a humorous action game with cartoon style graphics that challenges you to use your voice to defeat enemies by hitting their resonance frequency indicated in a panel by using your voice or finger agility. The frequency panel ranges from lower tones to higher tones and pro. Enemies are defeated when you hit the right range in a sequence of multiple enemy attacks.

Throat Detonator offers three chapters and three difficulty levels: easy, normal and hard. The game gets progressively more challenging, adding more frequencies and the need to hold the frequency longer. In each chapter players fight with different enemies and at the end they will have the chance to defeat a boss. Throat Detonator also comes with social features provided by Open Feint, including leaderboards and achievements.

Throat Detonator can be purchased exclusively through the iTunes App. Store for US$2.99 and a trial version is also available.

Playing with Transformers on iPhone

Glu Mobile has released TRANSFORMERS CyberToy for iPhone and iPod Touch on the iTunes App Store. the App Store. Based on characters from the TRANSFORMERS toy line and movie series, this application is available worldwide for an introductory price of $0.99 from Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.
TRANSFORMERS CyberToy isn’t really a game, but more like a virtual action figure. It allows players to transform characters from vehicle to robot by utilizing the touch screen to interact with their favorite TRANSFORMERS in a virtual environment.

In Action Figure Mode users choose different poses, play sounds and animations, and deploy their signature weapons. In Challenge Mode users must change from robot to vehicle and back as quickly as possible by a series of taps, touches, shakes and tilts. Finally, there’s a View Tech Specs section that will offer details of on various Transformers including OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, MEGATRON and STARSCREAM. for now it only offers some data on BUMBLEBEE.

Space Falcon Commander Hits iPhone, iPod Touch

Rapid Turtle Games’ Space Falcon Commander is now available on Apple’s App Store for just under $1. Space Falcon Commander is a classic-style arcade shoot ‘em up game for the iPhone and iPod touch. This vertical scrolling shoot ‘em up game featuring 3D graphics, a wide range of explosions and visual effects, high quality music and sound effects, lots of bonuses and power-ups.

Key features include 45 levels, a variety of aliens and boss battles to engage, easy to learn controls and gameplay, a high score leaderboard, and English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Hungarian language support. Eric Huynh Joins SGN

sgn Eric Huynh Joins SGN industrySocial gaming company SGN announced the appointment of Eric Huynh as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering. Huynh joins the company from Vivendi Games (now Activision Blizzard) to help “propel SGN’s progressive social gaming strategy to new platforms and markets.” Huynh has a pretty impressive resume; he was a founding chief technology officer at Gameloft, and the founding CTO of Ubisoft.

SGN develops and publishes games for social networking sites and mobile devices including both iPhone and Facebook. Huynh is responsible for overseeing product development and research of games across mobile and social networking platforms, as well as defining technical standards, quality assurance and delivery protocols to drive the accelerated production of SGN’s games.

Huynh joins SGN from Vivendi Games where he served as CTO of Worldwide Studios for Vivendi Games Mobile. Prior to that, Huynh served as CTO of French video game developer Coktel Studio, and a CTO at Gameloft. Previously, Huynh held the position of Worldwide CTO at Ubisoft, where he lead 300 programmers over nine Ubisoft subsidiaries and had a key role in setting-up studios in Paris, Montreal, Shanghai, Beijing, Barcelona, Bucharest, Casablanca, Milan, Tokyo and San Francisco.
