Record of Agarest War coming to PSN
Aksys Games is bringing what it calls “its first epic SRPG for PlayStation Network” sometime soon. The game is called Record of Agarest War and it is being developed by Compiled Heart, RED Entertainment, and Idea Factory.
There’s some interesting features in this game like the Soul Breed System, that lets you take a bride at the end of your adventure and give birth to the hero of the next generation - your offspring. How this will work in terms of transferring the power you’ve earned and the weapons you have collected we do not know yet. Another feature is Collaborative Attacks, which allow you to position your forces on the battlefield and wait for the right moment to string together massive combo attacks using multiple party members•
Finally, there’s Link Gauge, which tracks your actions in the game world and alters the future world based on how you play. We’ve certainly heard this promise before with games like Fable, so we’re hoping that this system REALLY alters the game world in important and significant ways. More details about the game are to be announced, as well as a release date.
Record of Agarest, which promises over 100 hours of gameplay, not including side/bonus missions is a PSN exclusive.

ESRB Reveals Spectral Force Genesis
According to a listing on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board’s web site, Ignition Entertainment will be publishing IDEA Factory’s Spectral Force Genesis for the DS. The DS tactical RPG was released in Japan in June 2008. What’s more telling than the fact that it is coming to North America is how is publishing it. NIS America publishes most of IDEA Factory’s other RPGs in North America. Perhaps the Japanese development studio responsible for 75 percent of NIS America’s non-Disgaea titles is experimenting a little.
Not too much info on if there will be any stark differences between the North American and Japanese versions beyond localization - all we know is that it is coming and that’s it will be rated “T” for “TEEN” by the ESRB.

The Ultimate JRPG Cross-Over
NIS America announced a new game from IDEA Factory, Namco Bandai, Capcom and GUST that features enough cross-overs to choke a horse. NIS America is collaberating with these companies to create Cross Edge, a PS3 exclysive coming to North America in May. This RPG features infamous characters from each of the company’s popular games. Some characters featured in the game include Etna from Disgaea, Aurica from Ar Tonelico, Marie from Atlier Marie, Meu from Spectral Souls, and Morgan from Darkstalkers.
The game features an Action Battle System, a Costume Change system (changes status and appearence), side scrolling action dungeons, and a whole lot more. Expect to hear more about this interesting RPG in the days ahead.
