Psychonauts invades Good Old Games

21468-screenshot-20050307181856-640x Psychonauts invades Good Old Games actionGood Old Games GOG.com is now offering select games from Majesco Entertainment. The agreement brings Psychonauts, BloodRayne, BloodRayne 2 and Advent Rising to the GOG.com catalog. As part of today’s announcement, GOG.com has released Psychonauts for $9.99 and Advent Rising for only $5.99. Pretty cool.

Created by Tim Schafer - before he created Brutal Legend - Psychonauts is a classic action-adventure game that is considered a cult classic by many a gamer. In fact, Scott Jones recently re-reviewed the game right here on Crispy Gamer. Advent Rising is a sci-fi themed action-adventure game that features a script written by Orson Scott Card, the author of Ender’s Game and Speaker for Dead, both awarded the Hugo and Nebula awards.

As always both games are DRM-free and compatible with Windows XP and Vista. Other titles from Majesco’s catalogue will be added in the coming weeks.

Red Baron collection now on Good Old Games

Classic games portal Good Old Games is bringing the classic Red Baron air-combat series to the masses this week, DRM-free and at a low, low price. Thanks to a fresh agreement with Mad Otter Games, GOG.com will offer the complete Red Baron series in one value-packed bundle for $9.99. This package includes the original Red Baron, the Red Baron Mission Builder to build your own crazy scenarios and Red Baron 3D. All of the stuff in this package will be DRM-free and Windows XP & Vista compatible.

In case you didn’t know here’s a little history on the series: The Red Baron series was created by Dynamix, who later got acquired by Sierra. The game is considered by many to one of the best and probably only World War I flight simulator - excluding games that involve Snoopy - but those aren’t real simulations for obvious reasons (no offense to Snoopy - you know I love you dawg!). The games allow players to fly authentic World War I aircraft in individual missions or campaign mode, as they accompany the famous World War I flying ace (again, not Snoopy) in his squadron or hunt him as a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps.

Commandos Ammo Pack deploys to Good Old Games

Good Old Games has released the Commandos Ammo Pack, a new compilation product offering Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines and the expansion, Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty, for just $5.99. That’s less money than a 12 pack of the silver Bullet, my friends. Find out more at www.gog.com.

Also available today at the classics-only, DRM free site is the Hidden Gem of the Week - Arx Fatalis. You can read about that at GOG as well. Because it is the Gem of the Week, you can get it for a $1 off for a limited time - $4.99.

It’s a double header for basketball fans as EA Sports and 2K Sports’ respective NBA franchises make their way to retail to fight for your hearts, minds and very souls! Okay I might have been a little more dramatic than I should have been, but they do want you to pick one game over the other or buy both of them.

The Incredible Machine now on Good Old Games

Good Old Games is offering the classic puzzle-game series, The Incredible Machine DRM-free and a nice low price, thanks to an agreement with PushButton Labs. The deal brings a compilation of The Incredible Machine series to GOG.com, including The Even More Incredible Machine, The Incredible Machine 3, Return of the Incredible Machine Contraptions, and The Incredible Machine – Even More Contraptions in one package, DRM-free and just $9.99. That is a pretty sweat deal.

The Incredible Machine series require players to solve puzzles by building wacky and clever machines, with each level offering a set of specific parts that the player needs to use to build their contraptions and achieve a specified goal. The Incredible Machine Mega Pack is already available for download at GOG.com for $9.99, DRM-free and compatible with Windows XP and Vista.

The Longest Journey begins at Good Old Games

The classic adventure game The Longest Journey from Funcom is now available at Good Old Games. Available for the low price of $.9.99 and DRM-free, The Longest Journey is a popular point-and-click adventure game offers 2D and 3D environments, a complex storyline, wonderful dialogue and a compelling protagonist in reporter April Ryan. The Longest Journey tells the tale of two alternate realities; Arcadia, the world where magic is very real, and Stark, a world where science and technology are at the forefront of everyday life. April has the amazing ability to shift between these two worlds, and as she explores both, she comes to the conclusion that the layer between them is growing thin and that someone must restore the Balance. That someone, naturally, is her.
