Sessler’s Soapbox: So long Pandemic

This week on Sessler’s Soapbox, G4TV’s Adam Sessler bids a fond farewell to Pandemic studios, who recently suffered deep personnel cuts and a move to EALA’s offices. Sessler goes on to analyze how this may signal the end of the John Riccitiello plan at EA of introducing new IPs for the betterment of the future of the company, and what it means for the industry as a whole. You can watch it at G4TV or check out the embedded video below:

It Came from G4: Heavy Rain

G4TV is offering a bunch of features related to Heavy Rain today including an interview with developer Quantic Dreams, an exclusive extended Blue Lagoon gameplay video and a Bad Days Gameplay Video. We could sit here and talk about it all day or you could just hit the links below. Since I’m out of time, I recommend the latter:

It came from G4: Sessler’s Soapbox and more

Adam Sessler’s latest edition of Sessler’s Soapbox talks about the joys of level grinding if a game’s mechanics are solid. He uses Borderlands as an example of this, which I’m not sure is the best example, but it’s his dime. We’ll let Adams speak for himself in the video below.
Also of noteon G4 is a brand new interview with Halo Waypoint creative director Jason Pace, and reviews of Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time, Wii Fit Plus, and A Boy and his Blob. Check out the video right now:

Sessler’s flip-flop on the importance of story

Not long ago Adam Sessler said that good stories were mostly reserved for movies and books, while games needed to focus on gameplay. Now, Adam has decided to moved away from the position and explains what’s made him change his tune. You can watch him do that in the latest edition of Sessler’s Soapbox on
G4TV right now, or check it out below:

Sessler’s Soapbox: In love with Uncharted 2

This week, X-Play’s Adam Sessler fawns all over Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, giving the game a perfect 5/5 on G4’s rating scale, and said the game was “the best single-player game I have ever played.” In this edition of Sessler’s Soapbox, Adam delves into why that is the case. So in other words, expect lots more fawning and carrying on about this game in this latest edition of Soapbox. Check it out now at G4TV.com or be lazy and watch the video below. Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone that you’re too lazy to click a link..

G4’s Reggie Fils-Aime Interview

Nintendo head honcho Reggie Fils-Aime sits down with G4TV’s Adam Sessler to answer questions about the Nintendo Wii price-cut, whether there’s a Wii 2 in the works, and if third-party developers are losing faith in the console when it comes to more mature games. Will Reggie crack under the pressure or will he and Adams finally make a love connection? Check out the video at G4TV or stay here and watch it below:

Sessler’s Soapbox: Boss Battles

In this week’s edition of Sessler’s Soapbox, X-Play’s Adams Sessler takes aim at Boss Battles. In an age where the player has play styles and how to accomplish games, final bosses either don’t offer a satisfying enough challenge or are too scripted to be exciting, opines Sessler. Adam offers his opinions and then asks viewers to chime in what they think might be a good solution to makes boss battles as good as they used to be. You can check it out on G4 or watch it after the jump.
