Gillette, EA SPORTS team up for Champions of Gaming

Tiger Woods Gillette - EA SPORTS Champions of Gaming Tournament  Xbox 360Gillette and EA SPORTS have teamed up for the Second Annual Gillette - EA SPORTS Champions of Gaming Tournament on Xbox 360, a multi-sport online gaming competition that pits gamers from around the globe against each other, and the winners against some of the biggest names in the world of sports, including Gillette Champion Tiger Woods.

Last year the tournament saw more than 350,000 gamers participate last year, and EA Sports expects the same turn out for this year’s event. The Tournament begins on November 18 and runs through February 14, 2010. Xbox 360 owners will be able to compete against others on Xbox LIVE within their geographical region on several EA SPORTS titles including - Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10, EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer 10, Madden NFL 10, NHL 10 and Fight Night Round 4.

Winners who climb to the top of their region on each title will have the chance to be crowned a Gillette - EA SPORTS Champion of Gaming at the Final Event in March 2010. At the Tournament Finals, Gillette Champion Tiger Woods, as well as other sports superstars, are scheduled to take on one of the five Gillette - EA SPORTS Champions of Gaming participants in an EA SPORTS title.

To compete in the Gillette - EA SPORTS Champions of Gaming Tournament, gamers must have valid e-mail address, access to a Microsoft Xbox 360, the EA SPORTS video game in which the player is competing, a valid EA SPORTS account in good standing, a valid Xbox LIVE Gold Member account and a valid Windows Live ID with their Xbox LIVE Gamertag linked.

Fight Night Round 4 tops UK retail charts

EA Sports’ Fight Night Round 4 debuted as the top selling game in the United Kingdom for the week ending June 27, 2009 - according to ELSPA’s ChartTrack. EA’s boxing title pushed Prototype, The Sims 3, and Wii Fit down the charts by one spot. UFC Undisputed managed to move up one spot to number 5 while the new Transformers game debuted at number 6, Call of Duty World at War fell from the number 5 spot to number 7, and Ghostbusters took a hard dive to number 10 from the number four spot. Fight Night Round 4 ready to rumble

Fight Night Round 4 is now available in retail stores worldwide. Developed by EA Canada, Fight Night Round 4 is the first title ever that will allow players to pit “Iron” Mike Tyson against “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali. The game represents both pugilists when they were in their prime - ad in Tyson’s case - when he was relatively sane.

Besides featuring Tyson and Ali, Round 4 offers a new physics-based gameplay engine, an all new career mode called Legacy mode, and 48 boxers including Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton. Each boxer’s likeness boxing styles have allegedly been re-created to reflect their real-life counterparts’ strengths and weaknesses in the ring.

Fight Night Round 4 is available for the PS3 and Box 360.
