Batman: Arkham Asylum DLC soon

Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the Prey in the Darkness Map Pack, a new downloadable map pack offering two additional Challenge Maps for Batman: Arkham Asylum. The new content will be available beginning September 24th in North America as a free download exclusively on the PlayStation Network. Outside of North America, the Prey in the Darkness Map Pack will be available on both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

In the Heart of Darkness, players will battle a mob of relentless maniacs at the Arkham Pumping Station. In the Hothouse Prey map, players will have to rely on their Predator instincts to silently take down enemies at the Abandoned Glasshouse.

Batman: Arkham Asylum for PC in Sept.

Eidos Interactive, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NVIDIA announced that the Games for Windows LIVE release of forthcoming DC Comics-licensed video game, Batman: Arkham Asylum, will feature NVIDIA PhysX technology. Hardware accelerated by NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, PhysX technology provides physics-based gameplay and behavior in games. Using the processing power of the NVIDIA GPU to render in-game physics objects in the environment that not only add to the overall look of the game, but create a more believable world.

Of course, those wanting to play the game on PC will have to wait a lot longer than other platform devotees; the Xbox 360 and PS3 version will be released on August 25th, 2009, in North America and August 28th, 2009, in Europe and Australia. The Games for Windows LIVE version of the game will be available beginning September 15th, 2009, in North America, and September 18th, 2009, in Europe and Australia.

Championship Manager 2010 dated, demo this month

Eidos Interactive and Beautiful Game Studios have pegged September 11 as the release date for the latest game in its popular soccer management simulation game series, Championship Manager 2010. That date is for Europe, where French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish and Polish language versions of the game will be on store shelves.

According to the hype machine at Eidos, Championship Manager 2010 will be the first football game available for the 2009/10 season. It has been in development for over 2 years, and promises such new features as a bespoke 3D match engine with over 500 individual player animations created specifically for Championship Manager, a Set-piece creator that lets users create their own free kicks and corners, Scouting Networks that allow users to set-up local networks in countries around the world and scout for local players and Practice matches to help users build a team or trial new players.

A full demo will be available on August 14 via the Championship Manager website offering 6 months game time (over half a season) and fully compatibility with the full version of the game when it its release. This gives players a full four weeks to prepare themselves for the release of Championship Manager 2010 and continue the play in the retail version.
