DDO Unlimited Sorrowdusk Isle adventure pack released

Turbine has released a new Adventure Pack for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited (DDO Unlimited) called Sorrowdusk Isle. The new Sorrowdusk Isle adventure pack, which is now available to purchase in the DDO Store is designed for players level 6 - 10.

Players will take up a series of adventures in the dangerous jungle of Sorrowdusk Isle battling trolls, ogres, undead, and more! Buy Sorrowdusk Isle now by visiting the DDO Store - for characters level 6 to 10. The ogre Bruku, Elder of the Grey Moon Clan, seeks heroes to overcome the evils of Sorrowdusk Isle and follow the clues that lead to the Cult of the Six. All this takes place acorss hand-crafted adventures and 34 wilderness quests.

Free-to-play Dungeons and Dragons Online goes live

Turbine today announced the official launch of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited (DDO Unlimited), probably the world’s first premium free-to-play MMO. While this new game does offer some new content like new playable races and classes and new areas, the most important thing that this retooled game offers is a better pricing scheme.

DDO Unlimited introduces a new pricing model that allows players to download and play for free, purchasing adventure packs, items, and account services a la carte from the new DDO Store, or to subscribe to get unlimited access to all of the game’s content. DDO Unlimited head start program begins

Today Turbine has begun the head start program for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, the soon-to-be free-to-play MMO. The head start is now live for all current and former subscribers as well as recent participants in the closed beta. DDO Unlimited introduces a new pricing model that allows players to download and play for free, purchasing whatever extras they want or need like adventure packs, items, and account services a la carte from the new DDO Store. They can also subscribe to get unlimited access to all of the game’s content.

Besides being just free, the new version of the game introduces a higher level cap, introduces a new player class, and adds major new content including new items and a whole set of adventures. You can get started by visiting www.ddo.com.

Turbine has revealed some specific details on the new content that will be available with the release of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, the upcoming free digital upgrade to its two year old MMO. Launching later this summer, DDO Unlimited will introduce a new pricing model that allows players to download and play for free, purchase adventure packs, items, and account services a la carte from the new DDO Store, or to subscribe to get unlimited access to all of the game’s content. Players interested in getting a sneak peak of the new DDO Unlimited can sign up for a chance to participate in the Beta program at www.ddo.com.

A new player class familiar to D&D players called the Favored Soul will be released with the upcoming update. Favored Souls draw on divine magic to both heal and destroy. Like clerics, favored souls have access to powerful healing spells, but they are also more skilled with weapons than any other spell caster. Like sorcerers, they get a larger number of spell points than other spell casters and cannot freely switch spells at taverns or rest shrines.

The update will raise the level cap to 20, add new adventure packs (The Plane of Battle — Players can now travel to the Plane of Shavarath and explore a large wilderness area; and The Crime Syndicate - players help the Stormreach Guards eliminate the Sharn Syndicate ), improved graphics, improved combat, and the return of the Stormreach Marketplace - which was destroyed last year in an in-game event.

Turbine is dipping its toe in the free-to-play waters with Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited (DDO Unlimited). DDO Unlimited is a free digital upgrade that for the first time makes a premium MMORPG free-to-play and introduces new perks for those willing to subscribe or currently are subscribing to DDO. Launching this summer, DDO Unlimited will introduce a new business model that is designed to provide different ways to pay and play for its MMO game.

Players can download and play DDO Unlimited for free with the ability to purchase additional content and items in the new DDO Store. Players can also opt to join the new DDO VIP program and gain unlimited access to all premium content for a single low monthly price.

Naturally there’s a free unlimited way to play DDO Unlimited if you want, without ever spending a dime. But for those that want some extra items and content, there’s the DDO Store. The DDO Store will reportedly offer convenience items as well as premium dungeon packs, additional character slots, hirelings (hired muscle), potions, character customization and more. Players who elect to subscribe to DDO Unlimited will have unlimited access to every premium adventure pack, receive priority server access, 10 character slots, a shared bank slot, and a monthly allotment of 500 Turbine Points to spend in the new DDO Store.
